New Zogby Polls, Mr. Bush Jr. Ratings in the Tank, So is
Ms. Clinton and Mr. Kerry. The Big Winner is Mr. McCain. Surprise!:argh:

<snip>
Arizona Senator John McCain would overwhelmingly defeat New York Senator and former First Lady Hillary Rodham Clinton in a theoretical 2008 presidential match-up, a new Zogby America poll reveals.

The survey also shows that in a re-match of the 2004 election, Americans would now vote in equal numbers for Democrat John Kerry and President George W. Bush, while President Bush’s approval rating has plummeted to 44%—the lowest numbers of his presidency. The poll also found fewer than two-in-five (39%) voters approve of President Bush’s handling of the Iraq war.

The Zogby America survey of 1000 likely voters, conducted from June 20 through 22, 2005, has a margin of error of +/-3.2 percentage points.

Take a look at Mr. Bush Jr. numbers and you will think:wtf:

The DLC and this Middle Right Crowd (That is a joke, Corporatist is more like it) is completing their objective and that is piss everyone off who is not already, lets not kid ourselves. The passage of
A pro-big energy, energy bill, Another "free trade" agreement, Liability protection for gun makers, A free hand to appoint conservative federal judges, John Bolton is US Ambassador to the United Nations and my own personal grudge of why are Mr. Rove and Mr. Libby still in office?:puke:

We need to empower leaders with a plan for the future, not this we will respond to Republican initiative group!

1. How can this be?
"...in a re-match of the 2004 election, Americans would now vote in equal numbers for Democrat John Kerry and President George W. Bush..."

What are people thinking? He's doing a bad job, but I'd vote for him again...?

11. The people polled are looking at several issues
The number #1 item is, "Can the President get government into action in-case of an event with the backing of congress". The GOP have painted themselves the go to party even if we have to choke on their politics. Not to mention their are a lot corporations behind the GOP and people who work for these corporations have no choice. I will not mention the fundies!

14. The one problem with this poll is that they use 1000 likely voters
which came out with the +/-3.2 error rate.

only one.

But I digress...McCain might be ahead, but '08 is 2 1/2 yrs away...anything can happen and things we haven't even thought of will come into play.

Once again...'06 is the election that will set in motion all that happens for the '08 election.

bush has no coattails, and people are pissed; this does not bode well for the GOP in the Mid-Term. We can retake the Senate, but we have to push on the House. If we retake both houses... the bush cabal is finished for good. Everything hinges on '06...:)

The #'s will get lower...bush is eating from the sewer right now, and I don't put anything past him to try and bolster his wavering support...:(

15. What seats do we need to take to win the senate in '06?
And which ones will we get?

As for the house, in Colorado, we can take CD 7 and maybe CD 4.

6. Well this is 2005
not 2008. Also the media caters to McCain, and not the Dems. Just look at the Sunday morning shows and see how many Dems are on compared to Repubs. Also the media wants to pick and choose our candidates and that has got to stop.

Does anyone realize that Mc Cain will be 70 years old in 2008, no one ever mentions that. In my book the man has no credibility, after he kissed up to Bush in 2004, he proved he was a divider not a uniter.

7. Yes, "lets not kid ourselves"
How you can stretch these numbers into some misguided rant against the DLC is ponderous.

But watch how easy I can do the opposite:

If it weren't for the neo McGovernite two percenters "no difference in the two parties" crowd voting for Nader in 2000, we wouldn't be talking about Bush's poll numbers or even John McCain.

9. Would the Fundie Fascist vote for McCain?
Since some are Hell bent on trying to crystal ball '08 I will play.

Wesly Clark is the most viable candidate.

10. Actually, I believe Wes Clark is the most viable candidate, too... but...
...I think Mark Warner is a very close second.

12. You could be right about Wes Clark, especially is Mr. Bush Jr.
does something stupid like invade Syria or Iran.

I have noticed your post wyldwolf concerning the DLC and you are very protective of that group. I have some issues with those people starting with pro-military views boarder lining on imperialistic tendencies. The DLC is to close to the Military Industrial Complex for my taste. The next problem is with the CAFTA vote. Representatives had promised their vote to the House leadership, then change their votes without informing anybody but themselves. Nancy Pelosi was pissed and I would be too because this DLC group made the Democrats look like fools!

I think you need to go and read the following article by Will Marshall, "Valuing Patriotism"

Many people where against this Iraq war and were not happy about being ignored. There are more people today who are against this war who are also being ignored. That is the reason for the funny numbers in this poll!

13. trust me
I've read all their is to read on the DLC - including the book about them.

The DLC's stance on defense is very traditional for the Dem party.

16. Maybe I shouldn't say this--but we have shit nothing for candidates
for the big dance. The "guys" who ran last time are now in the "has been" category even if they die hard around here. AND, it doesn't take a village or an idiot to predict that Hilary will never be elected---she just won't. This country won't elect a woman. That was flushed for decades to come when we marched off to glorious war and when the towers were hit. If this Dem Party had an ounce of brains, it would start promoting a good candidate, build them up, yack about them constantly, etc. For god's sake the media is full of talk on McCain, Frist, Pataki, Gulliani, etc----THEY ARE ALL READY RUNNING. '08 has started and we basically are still picking our butts.
