Bush endorses teaching 'intelligent design' in schools
From Knight Ridder Newspapers

WASHINGTON — President Bush waded into the debate over evolution and “intelligent design” Monday, saying schools should teach both theories on the creation and complexity of life.

In a wide-ranging question-and-answer session with a small group of reporters, Bush essentially endorsed efforts by Christian conservatives to give intelligent design equal standing with the theory of evolution in the nation’s schools.

On other topics, Bush said he has no idea how Supreme Court nominee John G. Roberts would vote in a case challenging the legality of abortion because he never asked him about it. He also defended Baltimore Orioles first baseman Rafael Palmeiro, who was suspended Monday for using performance-enhancing steroids.

Bush declined to state his personal views on “intelligent design,” the belief that life forms are so complex that their creation can’t be explained by Darwinian evolutionary theory alone, but rather points to intentional creation, presumably divine.

1. Yay!
One step closer to creationism.

I do believe that Deity created the Universe but has no interact in it. It's not scientific and doesn't need to be in science classes.

2. Bush is a great argument for intelligent design
According to Darwin, evolution cannot work backward.

Therefore, Bush's very existence is evidence of an an intelligent -- if somewhat malicious -- designer.

4. Ironically
This "Theory" is neither intelligent or well designed.

It is NOT EVEN A THEORY! You don't teach opinions....YOU TEACH THEORIES: A SUCCESSFULLY PROVEN HYPOTHESIS!

Stupid literally interpreting f***wads...

13. I went to Catholic Schol for 12 years
and even WE laugh at this creationist BS. The sweet biology teacher brought it up as to not offend anyone's beliefs...THE ENTIRE CLASS LAUGHED.

Then again that was 13 years ago...before the religious right hijacked the catholic church despite believing that we really were not Christians.
