Tonight I'm praying Lieberman does horribly

Here's how I think it will shake down:

#2 - Edwards
#3 - Dean
#4 - Clark
#5 - Lieberman
#6 - Kucinich
#7 - Sharpton

I know the polls show Edwards down a little bit, but I really think he could pull a second-place upset, with the crowds he is bringing out.

I think that some Republicans and right-leaning independents will vote for him. NH always gets cross-voting.

What sweet irony. Personally, I like Joe, just as I like Edwards and Wes. I suppose that if I were the kind of person who wished ill will upon other Democrats, I'd pray that Howard Dean finished third behind Edwards. After all, a third place finish would pretty much end the Dean campaign. Sure, he wouldn't drop out until after 2/3, but the writing would be on the wall. And a second place finish would provide an additional boost to Edwards. And a fourth place or worse finish for Clark would raise a lot of questions.

But of couse, I choose to think only positive thoughts about Democrats. Which means that right now, I'm trying hard NOT to think about Dean, Kerry, and the Lieberman bashers of all stripes.

Lieberman is poised to finish third and Clark and Edwards might fight it out for fourth.

I hope that Lieberman gets 15% of the vote so that he can pick up delegates. It would be worth it just for the DU entertainment value.

Honestly, Lieberman could walk on water and that still wouldn't be enough to impress the DU community. The fact is that Lieberman's lifelong commitment to civil rights, the environment and expanding opportunities for the working poor and the middle class doesn't count for anything around here. Lieberman's devoutly religious, critical of the entertainment industry's efforts to market violence and adult entertainment to children, and a hawk on foreign policy. These three strikes, in the eyes of the typical DU'er, outweigh everything else.

This doesn't bother me any more. The fact is that if DU were around in 1992, they'd be calling Bill Clinton a DINO. And if DU were around in 1968, they'd be calling Hubert Humphrey and LBJ DINOs. And if DU were around in 1960, they'd be calling JFK a DINO. And if DU were around in 1948, they'd be calling Harry Truman a DINO.

The point was (and is), DU is not America nor any reasonable approximation thereof. Lieberman is reviled here. In the rest of the country, he is generally very well liked.

I've honestly never met anyone with good things to say about Lieberman,and that goes back to 2000.

Most people I know like Clark,Kucinich or Kerry.

Dean creeps a couple of my friends out.

18. Speaking of walking on water . . .

The Pope is visiting Washington D.C. and Joe Lieberman takes him out for an afternoon of sailing on the Potomac. They're admiring the sights and discussing the relationship between their respective faiths when, all of a sudden, the Pope's hat blows off his head and out into the water. The pope's security people start to launch a boat, but Lieberman waves them off, saying, "Wait, wait. I'll take care of this. Don't worry." Lieberman then steps off the boat onto the surface of the water and walks out to the Holy Father's hat, bends over and picks it up, then walks back to the boat and climbs aboard. He hands the hat to the Pope amid stunned silence.

The next morning, the the story is discussed on DU in General Discussion: 2004 Primary. The thread title:
