I don't understand how so many people can be so far removed from reality.

A broken dryer forced me to spend part of last Sunday morning at the laundromat. Spurred by the outrageous blaring of Fox news to make a comment about Bush policies to a stranger standing next to me, I soon had my my eyes opened to the absurdities that some people choose to believe in.

This guy told me that all French men are gay. All of 'em. He knew this because his sister went on vacation there and said all the men wore capri pants and acted effeminate. Further, he shared that this came about because everyone in France is on Prozac and Zoloft, and the by-products of these drugs have seeped into the drinking water and the result is instant transformation of the male population to homosexuality.

I played along. I said we should expect that to happen in the US as well since about 60 percent of the population is on prescription drugs, including the anti-depressants he named, PLUS viagra. Only in America we will have extra horny gay men.:)

This guy was an engineer and spoke like he had at least some advanced education. But these fuckers are crazy. They have learned the fine art of self-deception. I fear for our country.

But, upon reflection that MAY be WHY he didn't say anything. The moderators who have been there for some time are better than the newer ones. Susan Swain may ask questions, but you can't actually take them as being "one-sided"! At least I haven't, yet.

The one that made me want to lock all the windows and doors was the caller from South Carolina who practically salivated over the possibility that terrorists would target cities like New York and Washington, thus ensuring the death of the guest on the set that day.
