Senate scorecards show real difference between GOP & Senate Dems
Edited on Tue Aug-02-05 12:53 PM by expatriot
I put all these scorecards in an Excel and sorted by Party and found the averages and then I took the 18 DLC Senators (listed below) to find their average. There is a substantive difference between the GOP and all Democrats on these issues. I have seen the union scorecards and know there is substantial difference on that as well, just haven't crunched the data yet (actually, on the SEIU scorecard for last year, all 18 DLCers scored 100% but there were only three votes recorded).
Oh, and I included Jeffords in with the Dems (he caucuses with us).

1. Thanks for some real information and data

Democrats of all names are alot different from the republicans. We need to hang together in the areas we agree otherwise the republicans win.

Jeffords is great. I would gladly take more independents like him to get repubs out of office.

3. Peace Action 2003 voting record:
Edited on Tue Aug-02-05 01:30 PM by expatriot
I am working very fast, must go to work.... i found this and crunched it quickly

Peace Action 2003:

GOP: 1.43%!
DEM: 85.6%
DLC: 73.33%

http://www.vote-smart.org/issue_rating_detail.php?sig_id=002955M&sort=currentoffice

dont know what votes are included... no time now.... must go to work. bye

on edit: know there are at least 10 votes included since Joementum got a 10 per cent rating.... no argument from me there... he's as close as you can get to a neocon foreign policy wise without being a Republican. But w/o Joe's low score, the rest of the DLC would look even better. okay... to WORK!

8. This is interesting stuff...
Edited on Wed Aug-03-05 08:02 AM by Q
...but obviously these numbers don't show how and why Bush has been able to get everything he and his far-right fanclub have wanted for decades...WITH the help of just enough Democrats to make it look 'bipartisan'.

Rigged 'investigation' into 9-11

No investigations into widespread election fraud in 2000/2004

Illegal invasion and occupation of Iraq

Patriot Acts

Tax cuts for the rich

Bankrupcy Bill

The list goes on and on and on.

Yeah...what an impressive record.

9. Maybe, just maybe because virtually all of that happened in a GOP
controlled Senate. All but one set of his tax cuts passed in a GOP controlled Senate (and those can't be filibustered). Renewal of patriot act, GOP Senate. Lack of investigations, GOP Senate. and on and on the list goes.
