Joining in on a nation wide mass general strike. Can you imagine the panic we could strike in the hearts of the corporation?
As we all go day by day about our business and wonder what happened to our country and wonder what can we do short of violence to get our country back from those who have stolen and perverted her into one giant corporate, war mongering whore. I say we should just stop feeding the monster. Deprive it of its food. I say we start it right here on the DU.
We have a little bit of time left until election season for the White House to financially prepare ourselves. I say that we DU'ers start a grass roots mass Democrats solidarity organizing campaign of flyers, e-mails, coordination with other Democrat sites, lobbying friendly radio stations to promote it, put adds in newspapers, etc. And plan a mass nation wide general strike, and I mean a BIG one just before the election season for the White House.
We need to decide what demands we want complied with, for example such as the removal of all paperless electronic voting machines, a law banning such devices, a true congressional investigation on the possible criminal violations committed by the White House
(to include treason), etc, etc..
If we're serious enough, then we should all be prepared to possibly make some hardship sacrifices such as many before us have done. In my opinion we have to accept the fact that it is our turn to put-up and that things such as this have never come without some risk of cost. But one thing that we
(especially as Democrats) have as a weapon to combat against any of our fellow members from suffering the possible cost of political actions such as a general strike - is a deep and strong sense of community and brotherhood.
So when I say we need to prepare for a big fight, we need to all accept responsibility for each other, and come to the aid of any of our brothers and sisters who might suffer the consequences of a mass nation wide general strike. This aid includes financial and the
*long standing tradition* of using jury nullification, in addiction to other aid such as moral support, etc.
THAT'S what we as Democrats have as a proud history behind us; what we Democrats have successfully used to overcome the laissez-faire corporate thieves of the past.
In my humble opinion, as soon as we accept the fact that it is our turn to put-up. The sooner we can start down the road to put these little fascists back in their proper place.
Just as Mario Savio once said:
"There's a time when the operation of the machine becomes so odious, makes you so sick at heart, that you can't take part, you can't even passively take part, and you've got to put your bodies on the gears and upon the wheels, upon the levers, upon all the apparatus, and you've got to make it stop! And you've got to indicate to the people who run it, to the people who own it, that unless you're free, the machine will be prevented from working at all!"
