Prayers for Ohio's 2nd District and a fair election, for those interested

Since I'm sure the "Christians" at the other site have a prayer chain for Jean Schmidt, I thought I'd start a prayer chain in which those of us who believe in the power of prayer may offer prayers of support for Paul Hackett and for a fair and clean election in Ohio's Second District today.

I will start:

God, You have blessed our nation with a government in which the people have the ultimate authority. However, so many of our leaders today have failed to remember this guiding principle of our democracy, and in so doing they have failed to do Your will of peace, justice, and compassion here in America.

I pray to You, Dear God, for the voters of Ohio's Second Congressional District, that You may guide them as they elect a new representative to the United States Congress, and that their votes be counted fairly and accurately.

Our Father, Who art in heaven, Hallowed be Thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come, Thy Will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses,
As we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil. Amen.
