29. The CORRECT COUNT could just be a NEW CHIP away!
In the following excerpt, smart poll workers took action in the first paragraph -- but unfortunately nobody did in the second paragraph. The machines in question were optical scans. NEW CHIPS could be the answer in places where eg: the exit polls don’t match the machine counts.
http://www.pww.org/article/articleview/4642/1/197

A Nov. 7, 2002, Associated Press story datelined Snyder, Texas, reported, “A defective computer chip in the county’s optical scanner misread ballots Tuesday night and incorrectly tallied a landslide victory for Republicans.” Poll workers became suspicious. As a result of those workers’ inquiry, a new computer chip was flown to Snyder, Texas, from Dallas. Once the new chip was installed, the computer verified that the Democrat had won the election. The question remains: Was this an innocent computer glitch or something far more sinister, an attempt to steal that election for the Republicans?

In a July 30, 2003, article published by Alternet.org titled, “The Theft of Your Vote is Just a Chip Away,” writer Thom Hartmann reported on another “Texas anomaly.” In the November 2002 election in Comal County, Republican state Sen. Jeff Wentworth won with 18,181 votes, Republican Carter Casteel won a state House seat with 18,181 votes, and Judge Danny Scheel (a conservative) won his race with 18,181 votes. All three in the same county, same day, same year, all three with exactly the same number of votes. However, no poll workers in the county asked for a new chip.

79. What are they going to report?
That a 25 point blue shift occurred in a VERY red district and nearly unseated a 30 year GOP stronghold?

I don;t think that is such a bad thing....everyone will know what the real message is as long as they know how this district normally votes. We have a media machine now to make sure of that....the blogs and AAR will do their job.

The corporate media has been defanged....or at least I'm beginning to see a bit of evidence to support that assertion.

64. Not Nazis exactly
The wicked witch of the west is picking up the comfortably suburban vote. To whom this was has asked no sacrifice. Nice tax cuts though. Makes the payment on the Saab so much easier to make. Unarmored vehicles? Not my kid....

90. Here's the link to Clermont again.
http://www.clermontelections.org/default.php?section=results&topic=current

If we hold this margin, Schmidt will add about 900 to her lead from Clermont county.

98. According to official hamilton boe, Clermont is only district not 100%
According to http://www.hamilton-co.org/boe/inputdata/Electionsresults/RealTime/RealTime.pdf posted at 9:53 Clermont is the only district not reporting 100% - this is not good...

71. How will the media spin this as a GOP victory?
The cable news folks better break out the coffee. CNN and co. got a long night ahead of them to figure out how to spin this one.

Probably easiest to just bury this one.

85. My take on a recount
A recount should be conducted either way, and ev eryone needs to gather information they can on any potential voter fraud and Jean Schmidt's little escapade with the filing nail.

92. It's a process people go through.
I don't think there is anything unhealthy about airing worries and doubts. Hard to read for the optimist, but then again, optimisitc posts are hard to read for pessimists. Not only that, but the roles change daily.

But in the end, the process produces truth, so it's all good.

84. Easy -they'll just do whatever Karl says
Like this, perhaps...

"Residents of the Second Congressional District in Ohio today proved that voters prefer the policies of George W. Bush when it comes to fighting the war on terror, as opposed to a disgruntled ex-Marine just back from a tour of duty."

See how easy???????

103. It'll be fun to watch this spin

They really got trounced tonight, even if they win the election.

Added bonus guys I just thought of this -

There will be a recount. They will then have to justify THE EQUIPMENT that WE may be able to prove is not adequate for an accurate recount.
Think of that bonus opportunity.

86. This is a moral victory for the Democrats
When a Democrat runs neck and neck with a Republican in a CD that normally goes GOP by 70-30, a 50-50 split, even if it goes the GOP's way, is good news for the Democrats.

All the candidates will not be as good as Hackett but most of the districts will not be 70/30 either...This should give the Party hope, no matter how it turns out.
