this is something different for NBC Nightly News-- |

I wonder if it signifies anything:
They were reporting on how some American soldier--snipers-- were ambushed and killed today, and then told how this has happened before...and then they showed a video panning across at least four dead American soldiers as they lay shot to death on the ground. These were the ones from the previous shooting, and they didn't show their faces--
But is this something new? Are the networks getting fed up and maybe deciding to start showing the deaths of Americans? It was a lot more powerful than just listing out names and dates. It really brought it home.

I don't trust the media. They only showed this so when someone says they never show the negative of the war they have this story to fall back on.
NBC is one of the least trustworthy of the bunch. I can tolerate CBS on occasion...other than that you have to go overseas to get quality journalism.

Someone there must have forgotten how unpatriotic it is to show pictures of those who are dying for Bush's lies.

5. Either that or they're prepping the public for new torture photos |
|
Some might not get worked up over American use of torture if they see pictures of dead soldiers.
:tinfoilhat:
I don't know how I feel about networks showing dead soldiers. My brother was over there, if he died and I saw his dead body on the news it would probably make me relive his death all over again. I would probably think they were exploiting his death for mere ratings. But that's just me.

6. I saw that also....... |

The photos were from a previous attack. The point of the story is that todays ambush was similar.
It means they had an "ambush" set up. Meaning someone inside knew of the operation and tipped off insurgents.
US military may be training the wrong Iraqi people. Bad news!!

It was from the previous attack. But what shocked me was showing the bodies of American troops at all. I hadn't noticed that on TV before. It seems that someone has made the decision to show more, maybe because the polls say most of us disapprove of the war. They are always led primarily by ratings and were probably afraid to show it before.
