Biden quotes (from the Daily Show)
Edited on Tue Aug-02-05 10:37 PM by welshTerrier2
these are as close to verbatim as i could get them ...

Biden: bush is flat out abusing power with the bolton nomination ... recess appointments were meant for emergency situations ...

Biden: nobody at the UN is going to take this guy seriously

Biden: the idea that we're going to continue to tell the rest of the world that we don't care about them very much and we're going to continue losing troops in Iraq just doesn't work anymore ...

Biden: i'm seeing if i can gain support and raise some money to run for president

Biden: part of my frustration is that you cannot change the direction of the country from the Senate

Biden: i would be honored to run with or against John McCain ... i wanted John (McCain) to run with John Kerry ... i asked him to do that ...

10. yeap.
He could call Bush's War illegal from the Senate. He could call for reducing the military budget from the Senate. He can call for Bu$h's impeachment from the Senate. He could call for rebuilding our infrastructure, denounce the fascism that controls the country, and call for a reality check on energy, environment, and voting practices from the Senate.

The guy hasn't done crap except party on.

Sen. Biden Receives DLC's Truman Award
Biden Speaks on the Foreign Policy Challenges Facing America
For Immediate Release

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Senator Joseph Biden (D-Del.) spoke to the Democratic Leadership Council (DLC) today on the need for Democrats to offer an enlightened foreign policy strategy and a unique vision for the future of democracy around the world.

"I believe we are literally at the hinge of history," Senator Biden stated. "I believe that our military power is necessary, but not sufficient, to change the world. It will be our ideas and our ideals -- the things we value, the things we stand for, the same things that brought the Berlin Wall down -- that will nudge the world toward more freedom and democracy."

At the event, Senator Biden was presented with the Democratic Leadership Council's Harry S. Truman Award. The award recognizes the senator's dedication to the Democratic Party's legacy of a strong national defense and the advancement of American ideals, embodied by the 33rd President of the United States.

Al From, Founder and CEO of the DLC, stated at the presentation ceremony, "The Harry S. Truman Award was created to recognize the commitment of leaders of our party to the strong national security principles of the plain spoken President from Independence. Joe Biden is a statesman in the tradition of Truman. Our party, and indeed our nation, is fortunate to have him as an advocate on the world stage."

6. Oh Gawd!
"Biden: i would be honored to run with or against John McCain ... i wanted John (McCain) to run with John Kerry ... i asked him to do that ..."

That was a real stupid ass move. Guess McCain musta said NO!...cause that's what I heard.

I remember now....because I saw that picture where McCain was hugging all over Bush.

Binden is so pandering! Could it get any worse?
Desperation knows no bounds.

Knowing him...yes, it could, and it will.

17. The media loved that story and spun it AGAINST Kerry and the Dem party.
Kerry said he never asked McCain, but the media insisted he did...now we know it was Biden who asked.

Rove used it to spread the meme that no Dems were qualified so Kerry needed a Republican to run with him.

12. Hey Joe. You CAN change the direction of the country from the Senate!
*Stop voting for your Corporate financiers and an immoral war!

*Start standing up for the Working American!

*Scream at and curse the Dems(your friends) who voted for CAFTAand Call the CAFTA Dems "TRAITORS to the Working American" in public!

*RENOUCE the corrupting influence of Corporate Money INSIDE the Democratic Party

*State your FULL and UNQUALIFIED support for Trade Unions!

By doing these things in the SEnate and organizing public support for these issues, you CAN change the direction of the country!

16. I'm totally shocked by Biden's statement
that you can't change the direction of the country in the Senate. Who the hell makes our laws? Who voted to attack Iraq? Who voted for the tax cuts for the rich? Who voted to not allow the little people to go bankrupt? What the fuck is wrong with that man?
