Thanks for the link! I was listening to Rush talk about this race today, and heard people calling in, saying they voted for the Republican. As an Ohioan I'll be interested in learning the results.
hackett is a leftist, and not to be trusted.

Thanks, poster. I hope Schmidt teaches the SOB a lesson.

One web site has Hackett ahead with 56% of precincts in. I can't believe the people of that district will elect a candidate who openly refers to GWB as that SOB in the White House. Naturally if this moron wins the media will be screaming it is a huge defeat for the GOP. I suppose all things considered it will be a disaster, since that is a Republican majority district. Maybe the president should have left Rob Portman where he was.

Folks, let's get real, OK? A win for Hackett (I hope not) would be more bad news for the Repubs. A shot in the arm for the Donks. A hint (maybe more) that we are entering the Vietnam Syndrome - the TVized zombies collapsing from the "Iraq fatigue" media jihad. This is a historical 70% pro Repub district. Slick and deceptive ads from the Leftoids will not suffice as an answer for a Repub defeat.

Hackett is winning by 3% and it doesn't look good for Schmidt. I agree with #6. This is a bell-ringer election. We now have a conservative area of our country electing someone who called our president an SOB.

If 50,000 people get to choose the next congressman from this district, then shame on all of us for being so damn apathetic.
We are at war--a war for our very survival--the survival of civilization. And yet middle class taxpayers don't find it important enough to vote?
May God have mercy on us all...

Thanks! Here's hoping the dishonest Dem loses this one.

Hackett's ads were lies of ommission. He didn't say he was a democrat..in fact one ad starts out with President Bush.
I think Marines will kick his butt if he wins..he used the 'Look at me, I'm a Veteran
vote for me'..and acted like he supported the President, when in fact he called President Bush a son of a ---- and refused to apologize for it.
democrats are calling this a precurser of 2006 elections..what a lie..THIS candidate refused to identify himself as a democrat!

I am worried because Adams and Pike Counties (clearly liberal demo bastians) are showing only 34 and 50 percent precincts reporting. Demos wait to see how many votes they need before reporting...
I smell corruption.

Didn't Rush already speculate that they would cry foul if Hackett loses?
Reply 26 - Posted by: go! gw!, 8/2/2005 10:26:17 PM
Thanks so much MM!
Thank Heavens, at least we shouldn't have to listen to the donkeys braying all over the place about their "big win"

democrats were sounding very confident this morning...if Hackett wins..they will be saying that this is the 'handwriting on the wall'..for 2006...Republicans are doomed..yadda yadda...
What will they say when Hackett loses?
Bwahahahaha

Another website was reporting they're having to hand-count because of the humidity there or something... Wonder when they'll start claiming voter irregularities....

Maybe that's why the Clermont County Election Board site says 'Service Unavailable'.

Whew!! Now it IS outside the margin of lawyer.
We were supposed to win anyway so this ain't really news.

This is one Virginia resident who is very gratified to hear the result. But we can easily predict the MSM spin: solid GOP district in a swing state, "moderate" Dem comes "within an eyelash" of taking seat, PIAPS is well positioned, if she (or any other 'RAT) can do at least this well in the 2nd District in 2008 then Ohio belongs to the Dems, and so forth.
Lord have mercy. There ain't no rest for the weary in the business of politics.

Phew! I must have checked moments (literally) before they updated. Glad to see the win, but we must wonder about voters these days.

A Navy Lieutenant called Rush's show today and reported that ambulance-chaser Hackett was a civilian affairs officer (a liaison) in Iraq. Not that such a post isn't important or risky, but it ain't 'combat' as he seems to have advertised. He did mention "My Marines" in his ad, which would lead the listener to conclude that he led a force into combat.
