Pro-Republican spin on Ohio election on my CT radio - Schmidt first woman

This is WTIC AM 1080 in Hartford, CT - a 50,000 Watt station. To summarize - they said it was hotly contested and that Iraq War Vet Paul Hackett lost to Jean Schmidt, who now becomes the first woman to ever hold a seat in that district. Result was seen as a referendum on the Iraq War and that Hackett had been critical of Bush. Nothing about how it was a heavily Republican district - just seemed to emphasize that she was the first woman ever to represent the district.

1. Referendum on the Iraq War? Fine. Bring it on.

She won 52% of the vote in a rock solid Republican district. Then that should tell us that if only 52% of voters in a solidly Republican district voted for the pro-war candidate then just maybe a majority of Americans no longer support the war.

You can chalk a good chunk of her support to fetus worship and fear of Adam and Steve hitching up.

5. I agree. The war is being fought by the poor and financed by the furure.

There is almost no sense over here of us being at war. And notice Bush talks less and less about being a "war president".
