Biden discussed a possible run last night on the Daily Show

Joe Biden was on the Daily Show last night. He discussed a possible campaign for President . It was pretty much the same kind of talk, "I am getting a feel around the country", "trying to raise some money", etc.

Jon Stewart did ask him about possible running against his colleague John McCain. Biden then said that he would be honored to run against or with John McCain and that he called McCain and tried to talk him into running with John Kerry last fall.

I probably like McCain more than Biden, but neither rank that highly for me. The only reason that I'd probaly vote for that ticket is to mess up the status quo in Washington. A split ticket like that could do a lot to minimize the partisian divisions in this country and offset all the giveaways the credit card companies would be getting.

8. Why would you put the former general in charge

of the Senate and the Senator in charge of the military?

Oh, and Clark can't be Def Sec until 2010. Constutional law requires the Def Sec to have been a civilian for at least 10 years. Clark is not eligible until 2010.

He got laughed out of the '88 primaries for plagurizing a Neil Kinnock speech. Quite frankly, if Kinnock ran for President, he'd do better :eyes:

9. He wasn't the "one" that called McCain

He just said that he called McCain to say that it would be a good idea once McCain was offered the position by Kerry.

So Biden wasn't calling the shots, but it seems he was in on the discussion if he knew that McCain was asked.

That the Kerry people had discussed this with McCain long before he had sewn up the nomination. I remember it well, since I became totally pissed off. Biden/McCain! I can just hear their slogan: Sell the country to the Keating Five, and give the people to MBNA.
