Has anybody looked at turnout numbers for the Hackett race?
I'm wondering if he did well because of Dem turnout, or because of crossover votes. I usually look to mydd, but they have no analysis yet.

1. Excellent question. I sincerely hope it was crossover votes.
Not that I don't want to see an awesome Dem turnout, but those crossover votes would be mighty nice to see.

3. Low turnout - especially GOP
The Dem turnout was lower than 2004, but what really stands out is the ultra low Republican turnout.

4. Lower than 2004? Interesting given the results of the ballot initiatives
Apparently some tax issues for education, roads and firefighters passed, when they had not passed in many attempts.

5. At issue is Clermont County. they held out claiming humidity problems
then pushed Schmidt to the "win". Here is a good link that analyzes the results there:

7. I heard it was 25% total turn out. Usually on special election,
turn out is 12%... It's a big increase for special election!
