Repub accidentally co-sponsers private accounts
Rep. Jim Gerlach (R-Pa.) is not a fan of President Bush’s plan to set up private accounts for Social Security. So when Gerlach’s name was added to the list of those co-sponsoring Rep. Jim McCrery’s (R-La.) private-account bill last week, it raised more than a few eyebrows.
...
Gerlach had told Rep. Paul Ryan’s (R-Wis.) office that he wanted to co-sponsor Ryan’s capital-gains bill, dubbed the Growth Act, but there was a misunderstanding and Gerlach’s name was added as a co-sponsor to McCrery’s GROW Act, Gentzel said.

Ryan’s office apologized for the mistake, and Gerlach has withdrawn his name as a co-sponsor of McCrery’s legislation.
