Brand New DLC Advertising Slogans!
Given the recent DLC calls for troop increases, the DLC has decided they are going to have to mount an advertising campaign to rally support for their solid, Democratic positions. Following, then, are some of the newest slogans sounded out by Al From.

New slogans for the DLC -

The DLC: A Day Late and a Populist Plank Short

The DLC: Because Manufactured Grass Has No Roots

The DLC: Doting Little Courtiers to the Neo-con Agenda

The DLC: Castles and Moats Against the Masses

The DLC: Let Them Eat Yellowcake

The DLC: Mini-Me to the GOP

5. I also wouldn't buy the so-called split between Frist and the rest of the
Neocon Heirophants - Dodson and his Evangelical cartel - That's just "good cop, bad cop" evangelical chickenhawks trying to have their cake (yellow or otherwise) and eat it too, except this time it's stem cell research that's being used as a fund raiser, instead of War, or other types of baby killing.

19. NAFTA, CAFTA
My son just lost is part-time, second job, that he had in order to be able to pay for health insurance. He cleaned banks and office buildings after getting home from his regular job. His employer was under bid on her contracts and she wasn't paying her employees even $8.00 and hour.

I don't think the DLC really cares about any of that because "The Free Market will cure everything."

The market isn't Free, and even if it were, why would we assume it would have the powers ascribed to it by the DLC and Republican Free Market Mystics.

25. The DLC really needs to stop "pathetically clinging" to Clinton
Edited on Thu Aug-04-05 04:27 PM by bvar22
Bill Clinton's success had more to do with Bill Clinton than the DLC.
Bill Clinton did NOT follow the DLC agenda. He used the DLC

<snip>
..." the DLC has a fit over Clinton's lack of fealty to its cause. In 1994, its then-chairman -- then-Rep. Dave McCurdy (OK) -- publicly denounced Clinton as having "the heart of an Old Democrat." In 1995 and early 1996, some DLC leaders toy with abandoning Clinton, and the Democratic Party in favor of a new party."

"The DLC had made a political gamble that by backing a less-than-100% New Democrat -- in contrast to men like Robb and Nunn who were purists -- it could push the New Democratic agenda forward. But as with many others, Clinton initially disappointed the DLC. For example, the early Clinton administration chose to place a priority on crafting a plan for national healthcare -- a proposal that the DLC viewed tepidly -- rather than on the more New Democrat-friendly idea of welfare reform. Clinton's much-noted ability to appear all things to all people apparently blinded the DLC, and they were stuck with a public face that did not always adhere to the organization's principles."
