Well, she's back. I thought that I would not hear from her again, but she is still fighting.
For those that are unfamiliar with Rosie and her emails to me...
I ended up on one of her email lists to her RW friends. After some particularly vicious statements against Democrats and the Islamic faith, I couldn't resist in engaging her in discussion. We have been exchanging emails ever since.

The only health care is for the welfare recipient.. A working person because of the extreme taxes being taken from his check due to the huge amount being pull to take care of the Dem. voter blocks.... The government's is too big and Bush has cut it a lot all ready 80,000 Government jobs have gone by the way side.. and more to come.. Our state for instances has instead of cutting government employees has increased them and has run our budget way into the red... Thank's to GrandHOME.. She's not add anymore new taxes but is penalizing everything she can >>every permit every violation and all the new ones she's trying to get thought it's like living in a communist country... Everything has been doubled.. Our states economy is in the toilet and she's doing nothing to grow it.. But giving more moneys to the welfare people..

As for Bush I don't agree with everything he dose but when it comes to the important stuff like the morals of our country and MY God's Blessing our country... Thanks for your email once again. I honestly thought that I wouldn’t hear from you again. I know that my last email to you posed some difficult questions concerning abortion that I thought might have been too difficult for you to answer. Come to think of it, nowhere in your current email have you endeavored to answered them. So I will pose them once again in hopes that you can offer some sort of response.
Perhaps you can answer the following questions…I would be interested in your answers.
Do you honestly think that all abortions would stop if there were suddenly a law in place banning them?
It is a proven fact that when abortion is made illegal, only those that have sufficient funds can afford a safe abortion. This means that minorities and the under-represented (the poor) would be forced to have abortions in back alleys where many of them die horrible deaths. My question was: Do you think that this is fair?
I must be honest. It is rare that I have run into someone with so much hate for their fellow man. Either your caps/lock key was stuck in the down position, or you are truly angry at the world. Sometimes I think that your anger is so great that it clouds your ability to see things in any balanced way. You appear to have a death grip on your hatred for anyone who does not believe as you do. You may find it surprising that you share this trait of hatred with others…people like Osama Bin Laden (he hates anyone who is not a Muslim), Adolf Hitler (you might recall that he hated Jews), Timothy McVeigh (he hated the government), Joseph Stalin (he hated everyone…well, that disagreed with him), the KKK (they were famous for killing African Americans) you probably refer to them as “darkies” or the “N” word. I suppose I could go on and on…there is so much hate in the world and throughout history. Oh, wait I remember another group who hated mankind…the Christians (they hated anyone who was not a Christian). The Christians were merciless during the Inquisition. You see, more people have been slaughtered in the name of Christ (and religion) then for any other reason…by far. The point is that “hate” is never the answer. It always results in more hate and death. I’ve never considered it a very productive method of resolving problems.
However, you are full of hate. So full of hate that you frighten me. I had to debate if I should continue these discussions for fear that your hatred might manifest itself into harmful action. Instead, I have chosen to continue my attempt to reason with you and call upon your higher self.
You see, I treasure “reason” above all other human traits. If there is one thing that separates us from other animals, it is our ability to reason. We are the only creatures that can know our own history, project our own deaths, plan and go against our own character. Reason is truly the most wonderful gift bestowed upon us by God. It is to be used with humility and grace…and is never to be abused for personal or political gain.
As much as I find your words hateful and unreasonable, I must be true to my word that you have every right to express yourself, regardless of how venomous it sounds. This is what makes America great…the “diversity” of ideas and exchange of beliefs. It is never easy to hear ideas that are different from our own. I believe that it takes courage. You see, I believe we fear most those things that we do not understand. It is a far safer and comfortable feeling to hang on to the things we DO understand and hold at a distance, that which is strange and unfamiliar.
Finally, in these types of discussions we also must remember that we are not only responsible for what we say, but we must take some responsibility in what we hear.
Now, I will respond to your email one item at a time. I do not promise to have all of the answers. As I have said before, I cannot be as sure about my beliefs as you are about yours. This is due, in part, to having an open mind and an ability to remain flexible. However, never let it be said that I do not stand up for my convictions and what I feel is right.

If I am not mistaken, the government is larger now then it has been in its history. I can look up the statistics…however, I’m pretty sure this is true. You cannot create all of the new departments like Homeland Security and others without growing the government.

You make it sound as if “all” government is bad. I too dislike large government…government that is bloated with unnecessary bureaucracy. However, without our government, we could not be sure that the drugs we take are safe…that our roads are drivable…that our country and way of life is defended…that businesses act in a fair and just way…etc. etc.

First off, I think it took a lot of courage to take on this real crisis in our country. 47 million Americans currently do hot have healthcare. For the world’s richest country not have some sort of system to insure healthcare seems shameful. Is it going to require that we actually pay for it? You bet. Nothing is free! However, I would like to think that I live in a country where we actually care about those less fortunate than ourselves. It seems like the Christian thing to do, would you agree?
Secondly, I’m not aware that Ms. Clinton made “millions” off the deal. I wasn’t aware that there was a deal. I’ll have to research that. Suffice it to say that you sound like you are repeating “republican talking points” which are often untrue.

By the way, what did you do with your tax cut??? Did you invest it? Just wondering. You probably used it to pay bills like most of us did. This is a good thing. However, is it really smart to have a tax cut in the middle of a “war” with our deficit the highest it has ever been? I’m no financial genius, but it seems that our government should be saving its money and not returning it to the richest among us. That money might have come in handy in the “fight against terrorism.”
But to your point above: I assume you mean $50,000 and not $50.00? Once again, I think that this figure is grossly inaccurate. Do you honestly believe that anyone, including the “pigs” you call democrats would try and sell you the idea that $50,000 is considered wealthy? Don’t think so. Sounds like another inaccurate talking point from your Republican friends.
You are correct that those that are wealthy do not pay their fair share in taxes. They have ways of getting out of it. Wish I could do that. Maybe you should talk to some of your wealthy Republican friends and tell them to pay their fair share. You see, rightly or wrongly, many Democrats think that wealth is held by corporations largely run by people who support Republicans. Why do they support Republicans??? Because Republican administrations tend to go easy on regulations that control business and industry. Corporations don’t want to adhere to a lot of regulations that cost them more money. Another thought…Have you ever heard of Corporate Welfare. You may not believe this, but many of our richest corporations receive tax dollars (money from our pockets) from the government. This hardly seems fair.
So, when you gripe about taxes, keep in mind that the little guy pays for this government…the rich do not (as you have indicated yourself).

Someone who thinks a lot like you asked me once if I wanted Bill Clinton to be a role model for my children. I stated that I cannot think of a single “politician” that I would want as a role model. Most have to play a corrupt game to be successful. I thought that what Bill Clinton did was shameful…particularly the lying part. That was stupid and unnecessary. I was very disappointed in him for this. However, keep in mind that when I pulled the lever to elect him and then re-elect him, I did so without a care about his personal life. I wasn’t electing a Pope…I was electing the leader of the free world…a person that might not agree with all of time, but one that I knew was intelligent and would do what he had to do to maintain our freedoms and civil liberties. In this, I think he did a fine job.

I assume that you are referring (in part) to those like myself that would like to take the word “God” from our pledge of allegiance. If I am not mistaken, the word God was added to the Pledge in 1954 as a way of emphasizing the “godlessness” of the Soviet Union. So, it was not always there.
You may not like the idea of there being a separation of Church and State…but it exists and well it should. It is what prevents us from becoming a theocracy like Iran.
Our country is truly made up of the world’s people…this includes all of their religions. How would you feel if instead of God in the Pledge…the word Allah was in its place? I dare say that you would not be pleased and fight for its removal. Are people of different faiths than yours that live in this country any less American than you?
