how else to prove the crime of doctor-shopping? Since possession of Oxycontin is legal with a prescription, the crime is in going to many doctors to get many prescriptions.

The subpoena for the medical records is limited to that particular issue, and the judge reviewed all the records and only released those directly related to the charge. Anything beyond that scope was returned to Limbaugh. But since feeding an illegal addiction is not legitimate medical treatment, any request to an MD for a prescription would not be protected by physician privilege, IMHO.
