Freeps on Novak: "Now CNN has no conservatives or Republicans"
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1457168/posts

1). To: West Coast Conservative

CNN must be happy: For now, they have no conservatives or Republicans working for them in front of the camera.

2). To: West Coast Conservative

That sneaky snake Carville is the one that should have been suspended. Bob needs to be at Fox News anyway.

3). To: Pukin Dog

The suspension's just a formality, something to mark time while CNN types up Novak's official walking papers. They'll cloak it in "standards and professionalism", but this is 90% (at least) about payback for his role in the Plame leak.

4). To: West Coast Conservative

Bob Novak hardly needs the grief of working with James Carville. Bob is a tireless reporter, who passionately loves his work, and though he's a Republican, stays objective. He's been at it now for 50 years. He may the wealthiest syndicated columnist in the world, he's loaded. And he's in his 70's. Yet he works like a 40 year old. I wish he'd tell CNN to get screwed.

4. Too true. And Jerry Falwell and other "conservative

Christians" would applaud and declare Dubya the new Messiah.

and famous liberals like Candy Crowley?

I can't believe these assholes think CNN is liberal - I think I wouldn't have been screaming at my tv for the past few years if this were the case.

12. Ever see the SNL episode where they were making fun of that?
They had someone (I think it was Jimmy Fallen) and he was telling the woman playing Daryn Kagan, "you see Rush naked and you like it".

The thought is too disgusting to process.

What a horrible channel.

10. Um, Mr. Freeper
1) The only payback WE want is for the Douchebag of Liberty to be behind bars for his participation in another trash and burn Republican-led political payback scheme.

2) Novak is a columnist who writes opinion pieces. He is a purveyor of gossip. He is by no stretch of the imagination a journalist.

3) I agree he belongs at Faux News. Bah-bye.

13. What I find bizarro is ...
I don't know about freepers in particular, but a number of right wing republicans are "highly intelligent." My dear older brother graduated with honors in the field of Mechanical Engineering.

During the summer of 2000 he did his best to talk up Bush for President. Too funny - as our immediate family's ONLY "black sheep" (pinko democrat) it was hilarious to me why my brother would even try. However, he gave it an "good old go" like some of those smoothies who hail from AEI. I think more than anything else in my demeanor, what stopped him from continuing to push the point was a distinct and constant amused look on my face (suppressing a belly laugh) as he would attempt to make serious arguments. That is, he just knew I wasn't buying it. :P

I think many right wingers do know that they are deluding themselves for the sake of lower taxes. Also, I don't want to believe that they are bad people to the core ... nope not necessarily evil but far too caught up in "acquiring increasing wealth." It never seems to be enough.

Any of you who have beloved family members who are republicans may be able relate to my argument. "They drank the kool aid" and have no desire to challenge their mindsets is, IMO, absolutely right. It's just so sad when intelligent people sign onto hording wealth and ducking taxes for the LUXURY of the upper middle class to wealthy. I thought we as Americans should WANT to give a boost up to people who work hard at even minimum wage jobs. After all not everybody was blessed to be born into a middle class family. Well, at least that's what people used to call Christian values.

15. Sad but true
And the really sad (and maddening) thing is that *'s policies have been a disaster for most of these people. And yet they still cling to the "Republicans mean lower taxes and fiscal responsibility" crap mantra like it is some kind of religous truth.

18. There is a huge difference..
.... between "intelligence" and "wisdom".

Working as a computer programmer, I've known plenty of folks who were very very smart, could figure out or author very difficult code - but had virtually no understanding of how people work, of much of any real-world life.

Sadly, being "intelligent" doens't necessarily mean you can spot a liar or understand why someone feels a certain way.

17. Shows how much they know abut Novak. He's a registered Dem!
Assholes.

He registered as a Democrat. I think it's mostly due to the fact that he lives in a Democratic area so in local primaries he gets to help make the choice.

19. "and though he's a Republican, stays objective."
That says it all. Even the freepers don't normally expect objectivity from a republican.
