Craig Crawford: "Don't Go Away Mad, Bob Novak. JUST GO AWAY!"
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/theblog/archive/craig-crawford/dont-go-away-mad-bob-no_5184.html

I am such a free-speech absolutist that I'd probably defend the right to yell fire in a crowded theater. But the duplicitous Bob Novak could almost put me on the side of censorship. So it's a good thing he chose to censor himself and walk off the set when James Carville chided him for pandering to right wingers. And even better that CNN chose to put him on indefinite leave. Hopefully, the newspapers that run his column will consider such a move. It's time for Novak to quit pretending he's a journalist and come back from involuntary vacation as what he really is: an ideological flak artist. All signs point to the probability that he sang like a bird for the Plame Game prosecutor, suggesting he cashed in the First Amendment at the first hint of jail time. This case is not the first time Novak wrote a column carrying water for a politician's agenda, as he did in abetting the smear job on Joe Wilson. Columnists get more running room for such things than regular reporters, I know, but Novak is a politician disguising as a journalist. Head for the revolving door, Bob, and leave your press card behind.

8. I thought it was new but, maybe it is just new to me.
I like Craig too.

If we ever want to let him know something, we can do it in the comments. He responds to the comments sometimes and definitely reads them.

5. Amen to that
Spreading lies and propaganda is not journalism by any stretch of the imagination. Novak has been a political operative for years and it's time someone put the brakes on him misrepresenting himself. The only time I would say he wasn't doing that was when he went on Crossfire representing the Right. He was still a jerk but at least he was being honest. He can write whatever he wants but he should identify himself as what he is, a Neo-Con apparatchik.

6. I used to like him some, but I'm mad at him at the moment
I heard him on Wednesday, I think it was, touting DLC talking points that Hackett could have won if he'd just not bad-mouthed Bush. I think that's CERTAINLY unproven (and unprovable), but I also think it's wrong. Oh, maybe Hackett lost a couple of votes here and there over the language he used or his sentiment, but he didn't lose an election over them. Most people who are not all that happy with Bush (and therefore might have been a voter for Hackett) wouldn't have been SO put off by those remarks that they'd have decided to vote against him. To my way of thinking, such "logic" doesn't pass the common sense test.
