sicking!

This fun doublespeak (well, not really) film all about the great destructiveness of the Atom Bomb, focuses on what power the atom bomb possesses, in regards to the bombing of Nagasaki and Hiroshima. The film stresses how it was dentonated in the air “to further spread it’s radioactive destruction!” The film shows destruction after destruction, and the viewer is quick to recognize the narrator appears to be salivating in all this destruction and appears not willing to bother mentioning anything about the uh… deaths that incurred? As a matter of fact, the only mention of any people being killed is made briefly by a priest in a press conference. This film, along with A Challenge To Democracy are classics in the War propaganda machine, and is a MUST SEE

3. They were brushing the radiation off with a broom
Holy shit... at the end of the video, the military put 900 troops about a mile away from the blast and then brushed them off with a fuckin broom. No wonder why no foreign power has attacked our soil since Mexico. We're fuckin nuts.

5. Watching those reels, I wonder how many of those people
died from cancer or radiation poisoning. Jeez! The people eating the food that was right out in the blast in cans. Unbelievable! Even then, the govt. knew how dangerous it was.

A family friend of ours was one of the scientists that helped develop the A-bomb. He told of long hours, no sleep, being pushed and pushed to produce, transportation in busses to/from the research lab with windows blacked out so they couldn't see where they were going, no communication with his family. When he came back, his wife said he was never the same again. He had epileptic-type seizures and at times would go into a trance-like state and start masturbating. He snapped. He lost his job with my Dad's company because he flipped out like that on the way to work one day in the seat next to Dad. Dad said he couldn't have someone like that working around women in the labs and test facilities (fire protection engineering company). The guy didn't remember anything about the episodes when he came to.

Really sad.

Though brushing off radioactive particles is a good idea if you get some on you. I'm not shitting either.

Protect your airway and any open wounds, shave your head, change your clothes, shower, and get upwind.

You're dad's friend suffered from stress, not radiation.
