I just donated to Robert Byrds campaign

After I did so, I realized something. When ever I write or email these politicians I get a reply stating that while they are interested in my opinion, they only respond to constituents. But when I send money, no problem! Thank you very much!

I cant imagine anyone beating Byrd in WV. He is like an institution in that state.

2. I intend to donate to

Sen. Byrd's campaign even though I am not a constituent because he represented all of America when he spoke out continuously and eloquently against this administration throughout that past number of years.

His speeches gave me hope, when others were silent, that someone in Washington was watching out for this country. I listened to his speech which has been titled 'I weep for my country' by many, with tears because I knew his words at that time, would fall on deaf ears.

He has pulled no punches when speaking about this administration. Sometimes he was a lonely voice and took the heat from the radical right who were listening and missing no opportunity to attack him, since his speech to the Senate on the night of the Iraq War Vote.

The rightwing is sending its minions into WV to try to destroy him. He dared to tell the truth about this war and the lies and the PNAC and for that, they want revenge.

So, I will do whatever I can to help him remain in the Senate ~ we need him more than ever, now.

If I were that eloquent I couldn't have said it better. Those are the very reasons I donated. Senator Byrd is THE lone voice of truth in the senate right now. Others are making some good noise, but Byrd tells the unvarnished truth. I love him for that.

6. False, misleading, and deceptive ads

These slick, out-of-state ads rely on falsehood and trickery. They do not tell the truth.



I will not sit quietly and let these national Republican ads lie to the people of my state. False, misleading, and deceptive ads will not go unanswered.



Please help us raise $55,000 in the next two weeks to respond to these ugly attacks.
