My take on Novak .... or, Does anyone really think this guy does research?

Novak is as always has been a political gossip columnist. He's no journalist. He's lives off sources. The bit about getting Plame's name out of "Who's Who" is just a diversion to cast doubt on Rove actually telling him the name. Novak is relying on the "Who's Who" option to give him cover.

When Ed Henry put that book on the table, having already told Novak he was going to bring up the CIA Leak matter, Novak realized that he was in some jeopardy. Because he had never opened the book in his life -- and a cagey Henry might trap him into revealing that he was not familiar with "Who's Who" at all. He panicked. He looked for a way out. He swore, saying "This is bullshit. I hate this." Then he appeared to look toward Henry, perhaps at someone behind Henry, and say "Just let it go." Maybe he thought he could intimidate Ed Henry into backing off.

What was happening in Novak's earpiece is unknown; but Henry responded by ignoring Novak and turning to Carville. Novak bolted for the door.

That's my take on it.

2. Good question. And which edition did Ed Henry have?

Another thing: did Henry have the book in view at the beginning of the segment? Or did Novak realize what it was right before he had his convemient little fit of pique?

It just seems odd that Novak's "let it go" comment was directed at Henry, not at Jim Carville.

Novak is grasping at straws, andm I'm almost positive he will go down in "Plames". He is losing any support he had, and knows he is in deep stuff. Kind of fun to watch him squirm, sort of like when he gets caught in sunlight...:evilgrin:

7. Novak is not a Journalist...he is a hack. Journalists have some form

of integrity. I sure don't agree w/all of them, but the vast majority of Journalists take their professions seriously.

Most of the people we see and read these days are pundits, and about as worthless as bush.
