How many of us Americans can take a 33 day "working" vacation?
Answer. Very , very few. You have to live in France to get this kind of vacation, Dubya.

This little ass covering gem was dropped at the end of an article on the economy and the Cindy Sheehan protests in Crawford today...

Bush spoke at the end of the first week of his 33-day working vacation.

3. No vacation at all for me most times, it would be nice but not w/ war
Edited on Sat Aug-06-05 06:19 PM by GetTheRightVote
on going, * should be in the WH. and congress should stay home in DC as well. It is nice to see the media covering Cindy S. and Vote March finally. It is about time they are concerned with real people.

It is amazing how * has taken over a year off for vacation while a war is continuing with American soldiers dying left and right, sickening really.

4. How politically unsavy can you get?
How many people caught David Letterman when he was zinging Bush over this vacation? you should have heard the applause. I mean, with things where they are at, so much doubt over the war, the whole CIA leak probe, consumer confidence on the way down, can you imagine a worse time to take a vacation -I mean, it's just bad politics. I know even some hard core Repub voters right now gotta be like WTF?

20. Ha! The French don't take such vacations either
The French work their butts off during the week so they can actually spend time with their spouses and kids on weekends and during the summer. Few actually take that sort of long vacation every year; most take much shorter vacations and build up their records so that every 3 years or so, they can take a month in the summer to go traveling or spend time with the family.

What burns me up about Bush is that he expects ordinary American "working stiffs" to put up with Rethug donor companies that work them to the bone, force them away from their families, refuse to allow them 2 sick days and bark at them if they even take off at Christmas or Thanksgiving. Companies which then turn around and fire their hard-working employees anyway, replacing them with cheaper outsourcing employees from abroad. The US today now resembles the robber-baron fantasies of greedy fin-de-siecle corporatists than a nation with community spirit that supports its citizens.

at the ranch. they're always in August, and it's oh-so sickeningly European, isn't it? it's downright socialist of him! where is his work ethic?
