SUNDAY AFTERNOON CRAWFORD UPDATE

August 7, 2005

I spoke with Cindy at 1:00 PM (CST)today. She is in very good spirits and sounds defiantly upbeat.

Most of our conversation involved legal issues (I am her lawyer) which I am not at liberty to reveal. However, she reiterated that she is in Crawford to stay until the president speaks to her directly and in person or she is arrested or the end of August, whatever comes first.

“The ball’s in his court”.

Indeed.

She knows of the support she is recieving here at DU and sends her love to each of you.

Peace out.

1. "ball's in his court?" He has no balls or he would meet with her.
What is he afraid of, the truth?

The Peace Bridge (Lake St. Bridge over the Mississippi)
Edited on Sun Aug-07-05 01:58 PM by katinmn
between Minneapolis and St. Paul.

WAMM and VFP have standing protests there every Wednesday at 4:30, followed by a rally at 5:30.

I contacted WAMM to suggest that we focus on Cindy Sheehan's challenge to * at Crawford and try to create some local public awareness. I also alerted state Sen. Becky Lourey, too, who lost a son in Iraq, and who has been outspoken in her opposition to the invasion.

Who knows, * might succumb to public sentiment and come out to meet Cindy but knowing how stubborn and without compassion he is, chances are this could still be going on Wednesday.

In any case, come to the bridge if you can! The more the merrier.

8. What Cindy Needs:
1. More friends in Crawford.

2. Local rallies in solidarity in your home town.

3. Constant pressure on the media.

4. Candles in your windows.

5. Your prayers.

7. From what I understand, she earlier had a meeting with Bush...
Edited on Sun Aug-07-05 01:54 PM by wake.up.america
Bush, according to Cindy was very flippant, not addressing her son by name.

I heard about the meeting with Bush on CNN. When was her meeting?

I uttered a few curses, which I normally do not do.

Some people really do not give a damn about other people.

Bush is an animal.

Wish I could afford to fly over.

My kids will never enter the Bundeswehr.

9. Thank you for the update
Let's hope that bush at least talks to her, although it's doubtful. Reasonable request asking what her son died for. If I was a betting man, I's say that a representative of bush's may speak with her, but not bush himself. Hang in there Ms. Sheehan.

17. Dylan thanks.
This week I am committed to a few causes here that I simply cannot or do not want to miss. Next week however I have only things I can easily get out of. If she is still there I am coming. I will keep up as best as I can for now. My husband may also make the trip with me. I would be more than happy to give a ride to anyone who wants to go, we are in Kansas, we could probably take 2 or 3. I am thinking it is about 10 hours so it will be an easy shot for us. We can't make it in September so this is our chance to support something we believe in and someone we are in awe of. I hope it actually works out so we can make it but for her sake I hope he gets his ass out to speak with her before then.

And I can't wait! If I wouldnt lose my job, I'd be leaving for Crawford RIGHT NOW! Tell Cindy that people in New Orleans support her 100%. She's a brave and selfless hero.
