A woman called her local NBC affiliate: They said they had gotten a LOT of calls and are sending people out to interviewher..cameras, etc. PLEASE CALL YOUR LOCAL NBC AFFILIATE.

Also, a man called in and said he thinks it would be easy for the Bush Crime Family to be screwing with her cell phone reception - jamming it. Thom Hartmann (VERY RATIONAL PERSON, AMAZING HOST) agreed. BTW, THOM HARTMANN will be filling in for RANDI RHODES on AIR AMERICA RADIO today...she is out sick.

The reference to her cell phone is that she was on air with Hartmann and it was REALLY BAD..going out . In the end he had to hang up on her because they had no connection.

I heard Thom's phone conversation with her. Her phone broke up once and then it recovered. Then it went out completely. I suppose there are several phones there. Think the SS and WH staffers don't need excellent coverage? They do and they have it. There are cell phone towers all over rural Texas, particularly in Crawford and surrounding areas.

to West Texas to see my mom, and I go through long stretches with "no service". So it is possible the service isn't that good in a remote area.

25. If your battery is low your phone beeps a couple times, then just quits.

A low battery would not cause poor reception; the phone wouldn't work at all. And there's also an icon on the phone that tells you when the battery is low -- so, no, that wouldn't be the problem.

She's out in the middle of BFE. While I agree that the Bush administration is dangerous beyond belief, I think what we've got going here is a bit of poor cell reception.

I hope, BTW, that the reason Randi is out today is because she's on an airplane to Crawford. I read in another thread that she is headed out there.
