W Says Social Programs Have To Have "Measured Results"
The war against Iraq can also be measured for results. So far, it's been proved to be unnecessary and initiated by lies. The war has also been riddled with mismanagement, pork and waste. It's long passed the time to give this war the ax.

1. Ok
Let's have measured results for the Prescription Drug Bill, the Tax Cut during wartime, the Energy policy that does not reduce our dependance on foreign oil...

Let's have measured results for the Halliburton no bid contracts, the no child left behind program's unfunded mandate, the PATRIOT act, Gitmo, Abu Ghraib, Extreme Rendition, the Healthy forests, clean skies, and all the other Orwellian named ** programs.

2. imho, you're right about everything
except cutting and running now. That would result in a civil war, likely with iranian and syrian proxies fighting it out ad nauseam. This seems unwise to me, seeing as they are sitting on top of the 2nd largest proven oil reserve in the world. True, Bushco got us into this, and should be held accountable, but Democrats, as the adults in the room, need to get some sort of international peacekeeping force in place before we head for the hills.

8. "cutting and running"? "civil war"?
There already is a civil war going on in Iraq and guess what - we caused it. Before we invaded, Saddham, for all his terrible faults, was able to keep the different peoples of Iraq from going at each other's throats.

And you might keep something else in mind. There will be no inetrnational peacekeeping force in Iraq until we decide to leave. Don't you remember how countries were unwilling to throw in with Bush on going into Iraq? But of course you remember, don't you.

10. Thanks and I'll give you an Amen!
I don't object to measuring results. Heck, I just went out and rented a floor scrubber to scrub my big kitchen floor. I'll scrub until it's clean. I'll measure the results of my efforts and the machine.

Getting back to the shrub. I want to measure his results as well. So far, he gets an F-. He deserves to be fired since he doesn't have the sense and decency to slink out... erm... leave office immediately. Also, our troops need to stop being mistreated and be brought home with the dignity and appreciation they deserve.

6. would that apply to $300 billion wars?
of course, in all fairness, there have been numerous significant things that have resulted from bush's invasion of Iraq ... those should count as results, shouldn't they??

9. measured results for health care coverage
Measurable in terms of fair cost and availability for all Americans. If we can afford this war with its measured failure, lets get a health care policy that can be measured as a success. Having no insurance can happen to any of us, no matter what your station. Its frightening to know you could loose it all because you've got some major measurable medical problem , few resources and no insurance.
