Poll question: The Mother of All DU Political Polls

So, WHO did YOU support (cash, boots on the ground, etc) during the 2004 Democratic Primaries?

"Honor Bright" System in effect :) I mean, we all supported Kerry in the "end", but who were you truly compassionate about after the kick-off of 2003?

Listed in no particular order, and my luck, exactly TEN:

1. I supported Clark until he dropped out, then supported Edwards.

And gave us hope during the dark days when Chimpy was getting his way with everything and people like Kerry and Edwards and HR Clinton were trying to play both sides of the fence. I'm forever grateful for what Howard did, and is doing.

5. I'm a DK man, but I respected all of the candidates

for their own specific abilities. None were perfect, but I admired them all. I really was impressed with Kerry, Edwards, Dean and Clark and truly felt Al Sharpton redeemed himself for anything he may have done in the past. Al was a show-stealer in every debate and a real treat to watch. I saw Dean speak twice in person, the man is awesome, and saw Kerry once, he shook my hand and signed my hat, plus he saluted and hugged my brother, it was a great time too.

I don't care about all the flame wars about these candidates. The bottom line is they all had the heart to go out and run, and we have some damn good representatives in our party. We can be proud of these people, which is more than Republicans can say about there side.

6. I supported Dean, until he dropped out ..

then I supported Kucinich.

I love to listen to Wes Clark, in addition to the two listed above, as well as to John Edwards.

All make valid points in unique ways.

I campaigned for Kerry, as I felt he was very sharp mentally, and who had great debating skills, developed as a prosecutor.

I felt that Dubya openly cheated during the debates.

And listening to Rev. Sharpton is always enlightening and entertaining.

Lieberman makes me ill (he needs to switch parties).

I also supported Dean until he dropped out, but ultimately voted for Kucinich in the primary, mostly as a protest against the growing neoconservative tone within our party. I knew after Dean dropped out that I would be going door-to-door for Kerry in the fall.

Unless there's a change in DNC rule between now and 2007, I don't think he can run for Prez? Didn't he give that up to accept his current position?

I live in California so the primaries were pretty much decided by the time my state was able to vote. However I've always liked Kerry so during the summer I volunteered for his campaign. I wasn't old enough to vote yet but I had a great time talking to people about politics.

31. most people were apart of the Draft Clark movement...

that began around march/april of 2003. By the time he announced, he had an enormous base of support, hence the immediate sky-rocketing to leading the field in 1st few weeks.

Clark opposed this war and had spoke out about it extensively since 9/11, before most even knew there would be a war or what the hell he was talking about. When he joined the race in 2003, he gave a lousy answer to a question, hence the "the flip-flopper" mantra began. None of us who have followed Clark and supported him EVER questioned his stance. He even testified in front of congress warning of an ill-advised war.

So...do we have a grip? You betcha, and we haven't let go! :)

I supported Dean and was royally pissed off that the nominations were decided by a few dozen farmers in Iowa and those very strange (but loveable) New Englanders in NH who are about as typical of the country as a whole as are Cajuns in the LA bayous.

And my damned state, NJ, didn't have a primary until June. Well, we fixed that now and we get a primary on the 3rd Tues in Feb starting in 2008 so maybe I will get a say next time.
