This is the thread on using a yellow rose as a symbol for Camp Casey and a call to help write some new words to the song, Yellow Rose in Texas-

The yellow roses in Texas, are more than you can see,
A wrong calling for righting is how they came to be.
We put them on the roadsides and say in spirit we are here,
Take your war and shove, it's the only thing that's clear.
There's some work to do in Texas, with a ditch to take a stand.
The heat is hot as blazes, the rain is not so grand.
You may have your bliss and comforts while you watch your big tv,
But truth and change of course are the only things for me.Automatic music-
http://www.niehs.nih.gov/kids/lyrics/yellowrose.htmI wish I knew how to paste an image of a yellow rose here. The best I can do is put up a link for the image results from Google-

Rosa Parks sat on a bus and made her a place in history. Does anyone thing that Camp Casey is going to be forgotten anytime soon? It is the first big news of a heroic effort to end the illegal war and to replace the lies in people's heads with some reality. For the sake of posterity we need to advance a symbol that will endure. This is our Boston Tea Party folks. The anti-war effort is headquartered in a ditch and could use any support that anyone can contribute. Sometimes money will not do.
I would like to see some yellow roses appear in Camp Casey, if for no other reason than to have something to add to the story. The same goes for the song. The music is the hard part and it is done.
I think plastic roses are very appropriate and I can tell you that if I went, I would have a flag with a yellow rose on my car antennae from the time I left. I think it is a great opportunity, but I also believe the cream rises to the top. I would like to have the idea reach Camp Casey for their rejection or approval.
