Hillary's opponent forgets speech....
The Imus crew was rolling in the floor this morning laughing at what's-her-name Perro(?) at her announcement for the Senate. She suddenly stopped and just froze for the longest time before she asked, "where's page 10?". They wondered why she didn't ad lib? Doesn't she know what she stands for? She has to read it?

22. Makes you wonder if Bush wouldn't loan her his receiver and earpiece...
But then, even with those Bush lost all three debates with Kerry.

2. She's a paid assassin, sent in to facilitate smearing Hillary a bit more.
Has no chance of winning and everyone knows it, her repuke bosses included.

21. That's a beauty!
I love the little aside in the bottom of the last panel, too: "Have the Secret Service wrestle her to the ground!"

It's just astounding that such a little shit of an excuse for a human being is president of the United States of America. Horrifying.

3. "....must stay on message."
Isn't that what they all do? We know the GOP scripts everything. They are probably especially cautious about this because it is one of the Clintons.

26. You mean the $2,000 to $14,000 "ill-fitting suits?"
Bush's Suits Cost $2,000 to $14,000

A BUZZFLASH READER COMMENTARY

Here's some trivia for you I saw on the internet. While the press focuses on how much Sen. Kerry's haircuts cost, check out how much President Bush's suits cost. Certainly, if Kerry's haircuts are a story, doesn't this deserve a mention if it's true?

Highlights:

- "But Bush's past style lapses are forgivable because, since his inauguration he's been wearing some of the best tailored garments -- Oxxford suits."

- "This guiding principle ensures Oxxford continues to create top-notch garments for a price --$2,000 to $14,000 --that loyal customers are willing to pay."

- "Mr. Bush was so pleased with the fit of his tuxedo, suit, and topcoat and trousers that he immediately ordered six more garments."

29. Must be. I can't see Bush buying "off the rack" for televised...
...national debates, unless it all part of the "good ol' boy" image his handlers have "cultivated" in order to get "mainstream" Americans to vote for him...

6. It went on for nearly a MINUTE
Perfect hair, perfect grooming, an expensive suit...pity she forgot to bring her BRAIN along to the press conference.

Talk about a made-to-order negative campaign commercial, courtesy of the candidate!!

By her thoughts and words (or lack thereof) we shall know her! Silence may be golden, but when you are announcing your frigging candidacy, speech is bloody platinum!

It was a funny thing to watch!

8. Y'all are forgetting that idiot Bush rallies voters.
Call it the stupid man's revenge.

It might not play well in NY, but you have to ask who the voter identifies with? One thing about Bush is he never comes across as elitist or talks down - he has the arrogant sneering quality of a common jerk and there are a lot of those around. Common jerks can relate to Bush even if he is no traitor to his class. The question is, to what demogaphic could this woman have a possibly broader appeal?

It was funny. They also showed a shot of Pirro standing on a small platform so she could reach the microphone. Kept mentioning the gangsta husband, too.

14. 'Twas coolly, self-inflicted vicious-
The spot I saw, the voice over guy said it was thirty six seconds. It seemed like a couple minutes and my "underdog sympathy" reflex kicked in so hard it made my asshole pucker and gonads reflexively try a little crawl back into protection (damn) even for that idiot member of the back to the dark ages crew. Such aggravated empathy is a terrible gift!

The freeps will eat it up.

19. I googled jeanne pirro and
came up with this..

"Pirro is also burdened by the fact that her husband is a convicted tax cheat (whose crimes she partially benefitted from). Amusingly, the GOP is saying that the sins of the husband should not be imputed to the wife - while at the same time claiming that Hillary's ancient marital issues will "cancel out" Pirro's problems. Not the first time the GOP has talked out of both sides of its mouth.

Pirro is allegedly the GOP's dream candidate for this race - but I ain't buyin' it. There's no chance she'll beat Clinton. At best, she might raise her profile because Hillary is a national figure, but even that's open to question, since this Senate race won't be one of the top-tier contested fights."

25. Compare and contrast with Bill Clinton
In Stephanopoulos' book about his time in the Clinton administration, he told the story about how Bill Clinton was preparing for his second or third State of the Union speech. As usual, he worked, re-worked, rehearsed, and went over the speech several times to make sure all the wording was right, and that his delivery was as good as it could be.

On the night of the address, the boob in charge of the TelePrompTer machine loaded the wrong speech, the State of the Union speech from the year before. Clinton hesitated for a moment as he realized that what was scrolling by wasn't what he was supposed to say. Remember, this is live TV with every notable in DC in attendance and millions more watching across the nation.

Clinton gathered himself, then began doing his speech from memory until the wrong speech could be unloaded from the machine, the right speech located and loaded, and then caught up to where Clinton was in the speech. It was so seamless, none of the talking heads watching the speech even noticed.
