Hillary Clinton to drop out of Senate race??????
One of my co-workers (who is a Repub) stated that he heard Terry McCauliff say that Hillary Clinton may drop out of her senate race. He said it was due to the high cost that the senate race would be. I can't find mention of this anywhere.

I thinking he is full of it... can anyone confirm for me?

LOL. High cost? It's one of the sturdiest Democratic Senate seats. And they would give it up because of high cost???? That's hillarious.

38. The Reeps really think we live and die by Hilary, don't they?
If only they knew that a lot of Dems really don't give a shit if she runs or not.

But hell, it's fun watching the Reeps get all lathered up over her, so bring popcorn, enjoy the show.

Pirro may have been able to sneak beneath the radar downstate, but when her crime family is exposed to the light of day statewide, she doesn't have a prayer.

They're desperate for a savior to stop Hillary, but Pirro ain't it. Hell, she has to win the primary first.

Tell Your co-worker you also heard that because of the impending impeachment of the entire * administration, a special Presidential election is to be held in 2006. Hillary plans to run in the Presidential election instead of the Senate election.

15. Me too! *rotlfl*
And it reminded me of what my cousin's husband's sister's friend who lives in Ohio told me. She said her friend told her that the election is going to be overturned and Sen. Kerry installed as the rightful president. Hillary will be his VP.

NY will replace Hillary with Michael Moore, who will easily beat Piro, whose husband went to jail for tax fraud. NYers don't like Repubs who have relatives who cheat on their taxes.

21. Not bloody likely. She's actively fund-raising.
Somehow I got on her campaign's mailing list, and I keep getting dunned for contributions for her '06 race. I have no idea why, since I live in Minnesota. She's not getting a dime from me; I intend to save my contributions for a Minnesota candidate to be sure a Democrat keeps Dayton's Senate seat. Not that I'd ever contribute to a DLC candidate anyhow.

After all, they can withdraw some of Big Dog's Mena coke money / Chicom bribes / murder-for-hire payments from one of their Swiss accounts, or she could take some of the tons of priceless antiques they acquired when they ransacked the WH and stripped Air Force One, and sell 'em on Ebay!
:tinfoilhat:

Or we could just take a quick peek at Opensecrets.org and see that she has already raised nearly $16MM - which is about 20 times the total of what her 3 listed opponents have pulled in.

30. I'm not up on my NY politics...
Who's supposed to be the governor there in '08? With Pataki stepping down, who is the leading candidates from both parties to replace him?

If Hillary wins the big prize in '08, which i think is likely, her stepping down in '06 would allow another Democrat to take that spot, rather than a possible Governor appointing one of the Republicans in '08. Does this make sense?

34. Repuke Strategies
After Pirro's disastrous press conference New York media showed an interview with Cox, another Repuke candidate who is running "against" Pirro. Thing is, he said that Pirro was following the same strategy that he was given - attack Clinton to diminish her chances to run for Prez in 2008. Hilary is not dropping out. She is one of the best Senators New York has ever had. Someone needs to get that speech Pirro read. So far, the New York media has been brutal to Pirro. Frankly, Pirro should be in jail.

Dick Morris, on Hannity and Colmes, apparently claimed that Terry McAuliffe told him this during the Republican convention a year ago.
In other words, it's total nonsense.

42. That would be a suicidal decision for HRC
There's no way she could fulfill her lifelong dream of becoming her party's "savior" and the first female president, if she gives up her U.S. Senate seat voluntarily.

If Hillary Rodham Clinton leaves the U.S. Senate in '06 to focus on a presidential run, it will look like she only used New Yorkers to "pad her resumee" for the presidency. It would also create yet another open-seat midterm race for Democrats to deal with having to fill.

That's not going to sit well with a lot of people.

And we all saw how well it worked out for Edwards...

No, Senator Clinton will run for reelection, and win; and unfortunately, her ego will motivate her to push her "celebrity status" in an attempt to manipulate Democratic voters in the primaries and try to scoop up the presidency...very possibly to her own undoing.

Why would she be raising millions of dollars for a reelection bid just to drop out? Even if she is going to run for president in '08, I don't see why she'd give up her senate seat to do so. The pukes are so stupid. If they are claiming that Hillary is a "power crazy feminazi" why would she give up the power she currently has?

Besides what is Terry McCaulife doing anyways? He's not chair.
