I can't help but believe now, that Cheney is the one much more responsible for what our country is going through, and yet as usual, he seems to escape under the radar to his undisclosed location/cave (and Goodness knows what he is cooking up there).

With that said, I am incredibly encouraged and grateful from the past few days, especially due to such wonderful, amazing women that have fearlessly told the truth.

I do remain aware of the fact that Cheney seems to once again escaping the blame I believe he appears to be more resposible in creating.

2. You're ascribing the characteristic of a "conscience" to them
I'm not sure that they feel the heat, simply tension regarding the potential for profits to diminish, and the fight to insure the flow of funds.

of any actions that would indicate a conscience.

George Bush on the other hand I am not sure of. I used to think that his actions lacked any moral compass, but now I'm wondering how much of the actions being enacted by this Administration are even George Bush Jr.s?

In looking back at all the situations that surrounded and encompassed his presidency, I think this has been in the plans for some time by those in the PNAC/Dick Cheney/Rumsfeld/Libby. What they needed was a puppet/scapegoat to be president so the war profiteers could enact their plans to dominate/overtake the Middle East, the oil and yes the world, and of course bankroll trillions, and all the while have someone at the helm taking the blame and the focus off what was being done behind the scenes.

Look back at the attempted coup of FDR that Smedley Butler stopped and blew the whistle on. They were going to install a puppet (Butler), while JP Morgan (supposedly) and others were going to be the ones implementing their big business/corporate policies. Butler would have had no real say in anything and certainly would have ultimately been the target of blame because his name would be on every policy that was being approved by the Executive Branch.

This is conjecture, but I think it bears some scrutiny.

Think about it. Realistically is there any way George Bush could stop this machine now? Even if he wanted to,which of course it "looks" as though he doesnt. The question is, who knows?

It is of course, up to us as Americans to stop the current flowing South. We can see most of our leaders are doing nothing but enabling the problem. They are more interested in staying in the graces of their offices in DC, than doing their job which is protecting the vital interests of their constituents and their country.

I do wonder at this point if Bush is literally so insulated and overpowered by everyone around him, namely his own Vice President to the point that he is now powerless to take any action on his own without the repercussions of the VP or whoever else, which would be such irony being that he is "president". I have no idea, but at this point, I wonder.
