CNN speculating that shrub may meet Cindy today
Reporting that B*sh will leave the ranch today to go to a fund raising bar-b-que and may pass by Cindy. Wonder if it is speculating that he will stop and talk to Cindy, or if they are getting a little bug in their ear.

I saw that bit on CNN; Jeff Greenfield categorically stated that Cindy's actions will not sway public opinion in this country; even in WWII (a popular war) there were mothers protesting their sons' deaths.

It wasn't very positive IMHO - claimed what she's doing caused the break up of her marriage. x(

11. World War II was a legal and just war. 2002 Iraq War was not.
The US was attacked by Japan and FDR got approval from Congress to declare war on Japan. After Germany and Italy declared war on the US, Congress declared war on them. That is a legal justification for war.

With Korea, Truman got UN approval.

Gulf War I, Bush I got approval from Congress, the UN, and our major allies.

2002 Iraq War, Bush II got approval from a Republican controlled Congress but no approval from the UN or our major allies.

That's why Cindy's stand has strength and is a threat to the Bush Admin. It challenges the foundation of lies and deceit the Bush Admin used to justify going to war against Iraq.

12. Yesterday, she said that her husband called her....
and told her that he and the children back her 100%. Are the media and/or the RW trying to cause a problem in her marriage? Despicable.

7. "Meet" if meet means Dubya's motorcade passing by on way to Pioneer BBQ...
Did CNN mention the BBQ. I missed that. It is a big deal--an anual event for Dubya's biggest donors--Rangers, Pioneers, etc. at a nearby ranch.

His handlers probably have him convinced that those are supporters outside his "ranch."

Edit" As I born and raised Western gal, I can't refer to his "ranch" without the quaotation marks.

He must know that anything he says won't change her mind, & if the TV cameras capture it....oh, the bad PR......

14. I am in the minority here
I think he will eventually see her. What has he got to lose? The press will treat him as a compassionate president and Cindy will go home and the next couple of years everyone will be debating the "he said, she said". I pray this does not happen.

16. That is if they have even a single brain cell left
I am starting to believe they do not. I think they are talking themselves into a "How Dare That Woman" mentality. Kind of how they treat North Korea. They are waayyyyy to superior to meet with her in such conditions.

If he agrees to meet with her now it will look like the pressure and the publicity got to him. In his tiny brain this might make him look weak, God forbid. Since the Chimperor HATES to look like somebody else (and especially lefty rabble like Cindy Sheehan!) could ever influence his opinion once he's made up his mind, he just can't flip-flop and meet with her at this point. And it would piss off his freeper base, too. His worst mistake was not agreeing to see her a week ago, which would have diffused the protest. Whatever he does now, he looks bad. But his M.O. has always been to stick with his original decision ("stay the course"), no matter how stupid that decision was.

18. That's what's wrong with the "news media"
Why are they speculating on anything? Isn't it their job to REPORT on what's going on instead of opining and speculating?
