Especially for their paid vacations and their 35 hour work week. ETC.
The worst is NY Time's columnist Tom Friedman. By far. He ridicules the French for their vacations.
Ok, have you ever noticed how often Tom Friedman goes on vacation? He's on vacation right now! He always is!
So is David Brooks.
I mean honestly. How tough is it to write a few columns a week anyway. I used to be a columnist for my school paper and would write columns every week, plus school. Sure, they are on a much more intensely scrutinized level and so on, but it doesn't really take 40 hours a week to write two columns. Unless you count reading and research etc, but guess what? I - and most of DU I suspect- do plenty of reading and research too, in a week. Honestly, you sit on your ass and read something on a PC monitor. It's not like you're out doing manual labor or something.
Being a columnist might be one of the laziest jobs ever created. Hell, I loved it. I hope I get to do it again. You read a few papers, make a couple calls, and write your thoughts down. If you need a paid vacation from that then I must be missing something.
And, if you want to go even further look at Congress. They work like three days a week and spend the rest of the time golfing with buddies, going to cocktail parties and raising money. Sure the real good ones have great constituent services, but how many of these clowns just pack it in because they are safe in their districts or, in the case of senators, don't have an election year any time soon?
Then Bush. This guy is a prime example. He's on vacation all time. He's spent a fifth of his presidency on vacation. Not to mention he doesn't do much anyway.
You know, it's one thing to criticize someone or, in this case, another country. If it's legitimate than that's fine. It's one thing to do that. But, it's a whole other thing to be an absolute hypocrite.
And, that's what these people are.
Especially Thomas Friedman and George Bush.
They take the cake.
