PLS CHECK THIS: Coordinated 'net attacks on Cindy?
Edited on Fri Aug-12-05 11:53 PM by snot
Sorry I haven't had time to really look at this or whether it's been posted before, but wanted to pass the word--hope y'all can check it out.

From http://web.morons.org/article.jsp?sectionid=2&id=6451 :

"My hypothesis, which I can't prove, is that there is an organized shill campaign coming from the Republican smear machine seeking to do everything they can to besmirch Cindy Sheehan. I think they are out there on the Internets looking for sites like this one where they can post the Republican talking points. It's blog shill-spamming. Maybe we could call it "shamming" for short.

"Notice how similar each of these posts seems to the others:

"139028
138980
138977
138937

"Each of these posters arrived here through the same MSN search, each launched directly into a smear of Sheehan, and each apparently didn't notice that several of the shammers before them had already said many of the same things from the list of talking points.
Based on my intuition and my familiarity with the typical usage patterns on this site, I believe there is an organized "smear Cindy Sheehan on blog sites" campaign underway. I could be wrong and this could all be an enormous coincidence, but I don't think that's the case."

3. Cindy is a Mom's Mom
Let them spew their hatred all they want.

She is religious and raised her children as such. Yes, I realize the Bushbots can be ugly, lying, and vicious as they showed with McCain.

This is different, we've learned about Bush's ugly smears.

7. Hey, this sort of thing happens right here in 2004 Election Results &
Discussioni Forum whenever something posted there gets too close to the truth. People just show up out of nowhere. I'm sure they're doing all sorts of nasty stuff all over "the information super highway."

They better be careful, they wouldn't want to upset the haxors. It could get ugly.

8. Probably most of the posts are done by the people they hire
to post all this crap. Read something awhile back telling about people who work for the Right--getting paid a set amount for every post they make. Also they are given a script to follow.

10. That explains why they all sound the same
Well, there are more of us than them. And we don't need to be paid to deal with them ~

What's to stop us from floodiing their radio talk show programs with phone calls, and out-posting them on their own blogs, etc.

Our talking points should always include the fact that their leader and his cabal are all chickenhawks ~ They want the AWOL story to go away, so that should always be mentioned.

Where was Bush for those 17 months?

Why are the twins not fighting for the noble cause he said Cindy's son supposedly fought for?

Could it be that Bush knows it was not a noble cause?

Why can't he answer Cindy's question?

Why is he so afraid of one woman?

Why are we in Iraq?

Where are the WMDs?

Why won't Young Republicans serve their country?

And, we should always ask them why they hate America and the troops. Why are we in Iraq?

We should also have a collection of Bush administration quotes about the WMDs before the war, the cost of the war, the length it would take, all the lies. Mention the DSM. Treasongate. Tom Delay. Hastert and Turkeygate

There's so much to talk to them about ~ and there are literally thousands of us ~

11. You better believe it....
and you can check your hypothesis by doing a Google News search on "Cindy Sheehan"

Notice all the negative headlines. It's a little hard to explain, but Google uses an algorithm that takes into account the number of links from OTHER web sites that use similar terminology. So if 500 RW sites post a nasty smear against Cindy, and they all link to each other, they will get lots of hits.

(I've had a glass of wine so forgive me if I'm a little off in my explanation.)

Do another Google News search and use the term "grieving mother" instead. You'll see quite a different set of results. FYI, here's the link for you: http://news.google.com/news?sourceid=navclient&ie=UTF-8&rls=GGLD,GGLD:2005-17,GGLD:en&q=grieving+mother

12. In most situations, smear tactics are effective. However, in
Cindy's situation, she owns the high ground. The smear efforts are a total waste of time. They can't touch our lady.
