Question: What if the Dems didn't run a presidential candidate in 2008?

Make the Republicans reap what they have sown.

Whomever takes the reins next term is in for a very rough ride.

Maybe this is the perfect time to let the Right have what they want.

By the time 2012 rolls around, the entire nation will be so sick of the Republicans that perhaps they will be voted out of office for generations.

Let them continue to pillage the national treasury. Let them take every single penny.

We need a revolution, not another "president". Especially those of the likes that continue to come out of the DLC.

Let the Pubs have another go. Sometimes you have to have to start anew, regardless how painful it may be.

Let them destroy, so that we can rebuild.

Because what have now is seriously fucked up.

2. I would agree if it wasn't for the fact

that the result of doing so would only continue the problem... and make it worse. It would also give them four more years to further entrench themselves and impose more havoc on the whole world. Better to stop it sooner, rather than later, or the price will be even higher for the next administration.

6. Why hypothesize about 2008 when everything you say is coming true.

Every point you make is happening right now. If a Dem had won, that's where the blame would fall. The war, the economy, the deficit...all of these failures would be Kerry's fault.

For the first time in his life Bush is being forced to clean up his own shitpile. It's why I'm actually glad Kerry didn't win the presidency.

7. revolution?

Let's take another course.  If the dems fail to force the
whitehouse to provide ALL Roberts documents then we need to
encourage all progressives to register INDEPENDENT.  That is
step one and would send a huge message to the dems in congress
who lack a backbone.

Step two- coordinate all progressive groups from bloggers to
MoveOn.org etc...into one progressive entity to take over the
INDEPENDENT party.

Step three- find our own nominee for 2008.  I suggest Howard
Dean.  Would he be willing to run as an independent?  I think
that is a question that should be asked.

It is time to abandon this entrenched system of corporate
governance.  If Cindy Sheehan has taught us anything, it is
that THE PEOPLE have the power.
