Why Aren't the Dems Boiling Bush in "Oil"?
Incident: Husband goes into gas station to pay ($2.49)and long line of good old boys are bitching at the price. Clerk points to ringing phone and says "that's my boss and I know he's calling to have me raise the price another 10 cents). The boys go wild and ask when this is going to stop, etc. My husband says "well, you can blame Bush". The place errupts in "pissing" on Bush (not ONE defender). Sooooo.....

So, I want to know why it takes a guy in a gas station to get the natives bitching? Why aren't the Dems saying: a)a good share of these awful prices are because of instability in the region; b) the region is unstable because of Bush's war; c)and we all know by now that Bush lied us into a unnecessary war!!---thus A + B + C = Big Bad Bush!!!! And, don't tell me it's because we also voted for the war because the public is as dense as a doorknob and don't stop to analyze the particulars. They are just looking for someone to burn at the stake!!! I'm getting real tired of this "duh, we ain't got no political brains" routine. It's old and it's starting to smell funny.

3. But, we were supposed to vote for Bushboy because..
he was friends with the Saudis, and he could talk them into keeping prices down and pumping the oil---well, we're waiting. In the meantime, set a fire under the political oil kettle.

5. Make the Point That Bush, an Oil Executive, Could Be Helping, and Is Not
Bush could be doing a lot to alleviate high gas prices, as for example, a President or some such might do. Release gas and/or oil from the Strategic Petroleum Reserves, for emergencies, (this is one)--the huge Reserve is almost full, and unused otherwise; get rid of the tax credit on SUV gas-guzzlers and give it to small vehicles, electric and hybrid vehicles, etc.; put immediate price freezes on gas prices and go after corporations for price-gouging (even Nixon used Wage and Price freezes, twice that I remember); and force automakers to increase the miles-per-gallon of all vehicles, which they could easily make progress on. People have to stop pretending that price-gouging is "natural," like birds singing in trees, and that there is "nothing" a President can do--except of course, when it was always Clinton's fault.

6. Run this simple TV advert --->
voice - "On the day gwbush was sworn in as president, the average price of a gallon of regular gas was $xxx. After 4 1/2 years of gwbush the price is now $--- a gallon. That's an increase of xxx%. Call gwbush and congratulate him."

(post the white house phone #).

that's all, no dems/repubs issues, no assertion bush is the cause.

9. Msongs---Exactly
In fact my husband just a few days ago talked back to the "tv" (he usually doesn't do that stuff) when some damn media anchor was trying to make the point that gas was only X-cents more than this time last year. He shouted "why the hell don't you tell them what it was when Bush first entered the Oval Office"!! That's what I mean about the utter frustration of the Dems pretending they just aren't politically astute enough to think of such stuff. Bullshit they aren't.

8. blackmail?
watching the bush jugganut, it does seem weird that the heavies in the democratic party aren't slashing and burning away at their enemy, and with the mad mad mad mad mad world exuberance that even the most proper bluenose liberal would find shocking, yet nothing! is it possible that the TRUTH is so horrific, so incredible, that the dems are, in effect, swallowing their rage for the sake of the country, as they see it.....maybe they've been told that 911 was nothing compared to what might happen, if bushinc is handled too roughly; bush will leave, but on their own terms, and in their own time....that means next election (which the busheviks will concede, in effect)
the point is, the bush/rightwing has blackmailed the country many times, and the country has accepted the terms...only this time the establishment is being forced to countenance outright murder, theft and a litany of awful crimes not even a biker gang would try get away with. the cost of trying to fight the busheviks could be bush's exposure of what the true state of affairs are, which would result in destruction of the us dollar and collapse of world economy....
there must be a reason for all the leftlibs holding their fire, and it isn't cowardice(?)

10. The Dems are bunch of chumps.....
In 2000, Gore, learning NOTHING from Bill Clinton, conceded to "The Homeland Kid"....

In 2004, Kerry did likewise....

Harold Ford Jr. condemns Howard Dean for making accurate statements about the Rapture Right...also, he and fellow Dems like Joe Biden vote FOR the bankruptcy bill...now he wants to run for the Senate in my state of TN and is busy courting the constituency in mainly Republican East TN...

Dick Durbin compares the acts of rogue factions of our military to Nazis, then recants after catching heat from the GOP, while Bush's Brain and fellow traitor Karl Rove says, with IMPUNITY, that liberals wanted to give terrorists therapy after 9-11...

14 Dems voted FOR CAFTA, thus ensuring the U.S. of Third World Status...and this was AFTER Tom De Lay violated House rules by extending the vote almost an hour past its deadline...needless to say, he was never called on it.

NOT ONE Democratic senator or congressman has gone to Crawford in support of Cindy Sheehan...

With few exceptions...the Democratic Party has been nothing more than a fluffer for the GOP. We need more Paul Hacketts and less Joe Liebermans in this party; Hackett and Howard Dean are only the beginning. Americans will continue to catch hell under this neocon structure of government until we FIRST get rid of their appeasers.

2006...RE-ELECT NOBODY!

12. Repukes were ALL over Clinton over gas prices in June/July 2000
When prices went up about 30-40 cents per gallon almost overnight. Clinton has NO ENERGY POLICY they screamed.

Release Oil from the strategic reserve they yelled.

GORE won't have an energy policy either they proclaimed--so you might as well vote for an Oil man for President.

Fast forward five years and Dems in office are nearly silent as fuel prices go up about every two or three days. What the FUCK is WRONG with those people?!?!?!?!?!?

13. Onetwenty--by the way, what are the Freepers, etc. saying about
this dollar a day climb?? These good old boys are going to be hurt the first and the most because they don't have the money to throw into their big red truck and it's the base labor jobs that are going to start being cut first as the country slides into depression in about 6 months. How, exactly, do they justify what Bush and the cartel are doing to them. And since they really, really don't care if Iraqis find freedom or go up in a ball of flames, aren't they about now choking on thinking "it's the price we wonderful Americans have to pay for liberating the downtrodden"??? When they can't drive the truck anymore, maybe they will start throwing their beer bottles at the radio when Limbaugh tries to tell them how great things are...........

14. FreepCo takes a different slant on energy prices:
I was watching a financial 'talking heads' show this morning on F-news, out of morbid curiosity. Is it just me, or have all of the participants on the F-Channel been coached to bare their teeth with beauty-pageant winner smiles? Kinda creepy, almost Stepford-like.

The topic under 'discussion' was "Is There Really an Energy Crisis?". The dude flashing the most tooth acreage in sheer "Why-are-we-even-having-this-discussion" smile was, I kid you not, a virtual knockoff of Albert E. Newman, and he had the "What, Me Worry?" attitude down pat.

"I don't call it a 'crisis', I call it a Bull Market", he said, regarding energy prices.

A woman on the panel (sorry, I do not remember most names here), stated that she had been successful in filling up her SUV for $68 without having to deal with any nasty gas-lines such as had existed during the 70's gas crisis; therefore, no crisis yet, in her opinion.

The one voice of reason, Wayne Rogers (Rodgers?), was continuously shouted down or laughed off when he attempted to state that yes, the energy crisis is here now. Alfred E. Newman (above) tried to make a connection between the price of a cup of coffee decades ago versus now, to the heating costs of the upcoming winter due to rising natural gas prices.

It's all the same, you see, and gee did the koolaid taste extra good this morning!
