Gas prices very probable to be at $4.00 a gallon

By the end of the year or during the beginning of next year.

How do I know this? Well......I can't say this with certainty. But it looks to me like gas prices have a direct correlation with our national debt.

What I mean is: It appears to me that the Saudis buy up enough of our debt to help keep our dollar from collapsing, and in return we have to buy oil from them, and the price has to be set to generate enough revenues for the Saudis to both make a satisfactory profit and enough to buy up enough of our debt.

The reason I say this is because it seems to me that every time our debt increases gradually, gas prices increase gradually. And every time our debt has jumped rapidly, so has gas prices.

So do you think the bill for all the billions and billions we've been dumping into Iraq is being paid by the Saudis and paid back at the $3.00 a gallon gas pumps?

With that in mind, remember the first gulf war? Remember how other countries paid the bill? What happened to gas prices back then? Did they go up a lot? Or did they stay relatively the same?



What do you all think? It was just a thought I had. Maybe someone good at economics statistics can do a history check to see if there is a pattern correlation between the level of our national debt and gas prices.

1. Gas prices definitely went up during Bush War I

I remember that all too well, because I was working at a gas station at the time and dealing with the wrath of angry people every time the price went up. Yeah... they weren't pissed at Poppy Bush, or Saddam Hussein, but me. Because I was the guy stuck behind the cash register at their local embassy of the crooked oil company, and you just know I was changing those fucking prices daily myself.

To add to the chaos, my boss decided to stock the countertop with "patriotic" war trinkets including the customary flags. All of which said "Made in China".

So I made a countertop sign that said "SUPPORT YOUR TROOPS WITH FLAGS MADE BY CHINESE COMMUNISTS!!" :evilgrin:

Fucking morans weren't amused....... I had to quit to preserve my mental health.

Note that the graph is not complete: price has continued to rise to $65 as we approach the end of 2005. That's almost 4 years of continues prise rise, starting at the beginning of 2002.

2. I typed gas prices suck into google and...

I came across an e-mail from an Iraqii war supporter from 2003. He was bitching about $1.80 for gas and was wondering why prices hadn't come down yet because he had been "told" they'd come down after we invaded Iraq. I wonder what the fucker thinks now that we're at $2.63 for regular.

9. Doubt it.....

Everyone said last year it would be $3.00 by summer of 04,might make that price this summer who knows. Typically the prices drop back in the fall and winter. Of course they'll be ripping people off on heating oil--which is basically sludge from the bottom of the refining process but that makes little difference.

School is starting here the middle of this week,some schools starting a week later. That puts a big dent in travel and fuel usage. Another item that really affects price is the fuel tax in individual states. It can be as low as 8 cents or less and as high as 25+ cents per gallon.
