OPEN LETTER TO KANSAS SCHOOL BOARD

I am writing you with much concern after having read of your hearing to decide whether the alternative theory of Intelligent Design should be taught along with the theory of Evolution. I think we can all agree that it is important for students to hear multiple viewpoints so they can choose for themselves the theory that makes the most sense to them. I am concerned, however, that students will only hear one theory of Intelligent Design.

1. If They Want to Discuss Intelligent Design

They should work on the Constitution and Bill of Rights, getting to know it, how it was hammered out, and how the Religious Right is tryig to destroy it.

3. If they were going to teach Creationism (I.D.) in a philosophy or religion

class then there would hardly be a controversy. Since Creationism (I.D.) is not a science then it has no business being mentioned in a science class.

5. Intelligent Design??? What sort of "Intelligence" would have

come up with the human species? We've spent thousands of years torturing, abusing, battling and murdering each other. Let's face it, if you we're going to design a planet full of people, is this the one you would have come up with?

IMO, if such a thing as "Intelligent Design" exists, it's merely some demented childlike creature playing sadistic games with us.

7. You make a good case for evolution...

when you say humans survived because of their aggressiveness and survival skills.

It was the brutality and violence of modern humans that kept us from going extinct.

Other species of humans died out because they couldn't adapt, so only the strongest survived.
