“I’m So Sorry” — Show It — Meet With Cindy!
“I’m So Sorry” — Show It — Meet With Cindy!
August 14th, 2005

Newsweek has a story about how Bush deals with grieving families. “I’m so sorry“, is a portrait of man conflicted about the consequences of the Iraq war. Yet, the question looms…

If George W. Bush makes a point to meet with and grieve with families who have lost their loved ones in Iraq, WHY, WHY, won’t he meet with Cindy Sheehan, who is camped outside of his ranch in Crawford.

Newsweek reports that Bush has met with “900 family members of some 270 soldiers killed in Iraq or Afghanistan”, so why not meet with another?

Your golden opportunity, George W, is camped outside your door… Show the world how truly sorry you are… Meet with Cindy.

The world is watching as you shun this Gold Star Mom. The words “I’m so sorry”, ring hollow if you can’t find the courage to face the most public of grieving parents. Your sorrow grows more meaningless as the days go by, that Cindy Sheehan camps on your doorstep.

1.  will condi or cheney or rove be there to hold his hand?

will there be a 'bulge' on his back feeding him his lines?

i would imagine that his other interviews were pretty scripted and with parents who also following pretty scripted protocols. as we know, his previous meeting w/ cindy was pretty awful.. the belligerence, the glares, the refusal to acknowledge that she even had a name.

for this man who needs his groomers and handlers a meeting with a woman who clearly has stepped outside of the box, a woman who has not put on her prettiest frock to curtsey to him and nod approval at his platitudes, for this man to confront the rawness of a meeting with cindy, would be highly problematical.

he would have to come out of his bubble to confront real life and that would be fraught with danger for this man who has no heart, no soul, no real capacity to absorb the enormity of the wrongs he has committed to the cindys, and their families, to the dead iraqis, to the U.S. and the world.

2. What about the other 1600 service members families???
He has only met with 270 families and has ignored the rest. Maybe there are many families who have refused a request to go to the WH for a meeting with him. There is no reason he should not meet with Cindy. He just thinks this is going to go away. But, for some reason, the media is really latching onto this. Since many of the foreign press reporters have been telling the story, the MSM here in the U.S. would look very biased if they did not do the same. I believe they have been pressured into reporting it. They tried to drop it last week, canceling interviews with Cindy, etc. but had to start back up again when they saw the story gaining popularity.

3. He's sorry, alright...
The sorriest excuse for a president this country has ever had. His whole presidency is
nothing but snippets fed to us by the media to testify to his compassion and concern
for the average American. Staged moments by a man who couldn't care less about
John Q. Citizen, as long as his massive ego is constantly fed, and his wealthy friends
continue to receive the dividends from the auctioning off of America.

Cindy Sheehan has called his bluff. Smirk has to drop out. He can't fool her with his pretend
serious poker face. She knows, just as all of us know, what he's got. A losing hand.

A very sorry excuse for a man, as well.
