Camp Casey Shotgun Guy - Can't they see the irony?
Take a look at what this guy did and said and what one of his neighbors said. I think this is the 10th day that Cindy Sheehan has been in Crawford texas and look at how riled up it has gotten some of the people there.

Now if there was any self-reflection going on with this guy he might ask himself: "how long has the U.S. been in Iraq?" "Might some of the people in Iraq or Baghdad be feeling what I'm feeling - possibly magnified a whole hell of a lot more?" "At least we have electricity and clean water"

But, we have here the people who have supported this war and this president from the beginning, they aren't capable of looking at the world any other way. I don't think they've matured much beyond the level of a 6 year old who thinks the world revolves around them.

The incident occurred Sunday morning as activists gathered for a prayer service in the tent village set up by Cindy Sheehan, whose son Casey was killed in Iraq and who is demanding a meeting with Bush to discuss the war.

On the other side of Prairie Chapel Road, Larry Mattlage hopped into his pickup, barreled across his pasture and pulled up to a fence within a few hundred feet of the protesters. He climbed out of the cab, retrieved a shotgun from the back and fired at least one blast into the air.

Mattlage insisted he was shooting at birds. But he said the activists had worn out their welcome, and he wanted them to go away.

snip...

Other neighbors expressed admiration for Mattlage's one-man stand. "I wish I had the nerve to do something like that," said Army Sgt. Vernon "Dusty" Harrison, who spent a year in Iraq and owns an adjacent property. "I salute his bravery."

I mean he shot at a bird right? What bravery is that?
A real man would have admitted what he was doing.

3. A guy runs up and shoots a shotgun trying to scare a bunch of
unarmed people - most of them women and some kids, and this is supposed to be "brave"? An "Army Sgt." who thinks firing a weapon to frighten women and children is "brave"? If anyone gets hurt down there in Crawford, it will be Kim Il George's fault. He won't get the blame - he never gets blamed for anything - but it will be on his head...

2. Imagine the police response if one the protestors had fired a shotgun.
"Just shooting at a bird, officer."

5. The Point is that the anger he's feeling toward Camp Casey
is exactly the same thing that Iraqi citizens are feeling toward the United States who have been occupying their country for a hell of a lot longer than 10 days. And I'll bet that he thinks the Iraqi's should be glad we're there. He's incapable of seeing the irony in his actions.

6. The point is that Bushco made a phone call after barbecue
"shake em up a little bit" at the least the local Sheriff you would think would question the shot-gun shooter about his comments, but as usual, they'll wait until someone is assaulted or killed before any action is taken.

Excellent insight!!! The irritation and suffocation imposed on the Iraqi people by our troops and Bush's mercenaries has to be something horrible. If the presence peace protesters can aggravate some farmer in brushland Texas, just imagine what the Iraqis feel.

12. I think that's how Cindy should respond when asked
about how the neighbors in Crawford feel about them being there. Her response should be something like:

"I totally understand how they feel and I completely understand how the gentleman feels who fired the rifle the other day. It must be similar to the way the citizens of Iraq feel. Think about it - we've only been here for 10 days and we already have the neighbors screaming at us to leave and one of them even showing his displeasure with a lethal weapon! Now take these 10 days and multiply that anger by the number of days that the US has occupied Iraq and you can get some idea as to how the citizens of Iraq might be feeling."

Something like that anyway. :)

13. just imagine how we'll feel when...
...another (LIHOP or MIHOP) "terrorist attack" happens on US soil and martial law is initiated?

Can we say insurgency? How many Americans will be fed up and fight back? Good ole 2nd amendment. Can't wait till the same "right to bear arms" people supporting the war in Iraq turn their guns on the martial law that seems almost inevitable once shrubs approval numbers get low enough.

Not only are Americans too stupid to see the irony of this peaceful protest "invading" their privacy, they have no clue as to the invasions of privacy shrub is making into law.

It really makes me wonder about the intelligence of people in this country... WE all get it, why don't they????

14. Bush neighbor takes aim at 'doves'
This was the headline on CNN. He said he was preparing for dove season. Obviously he means "doves" as in anti-war people? Wouldn't that make it a real threat?

16. Typical gun-totin','Murkin redneck....
...Willing to shoot warning shots at peaceful demonstrators...he wants to shoot that gun, but unwilling to take his bullshit redneck Texan ass to the recruiting office and sign up for Iraq....I know they're offering waivers for older folks (having been lucky enough to have gotten out of the National Guard last May, I know that the recruiting age has gone up to 40, and the commissioning age for new officers is now 42). Cowardly bastard!
