Contradicting yourself again, eh, George?
August 13, 2005 - President Bush, noting that lots of people want to talk to the president and "it's also important for me to go on with my life," on Saturday defended his decision not to meet with the grieving mom of a soldier killed in Iraq.

Bush said he is aware of the anti-war sentiments of Cindy Sheehan and others who have joined her protest near the Bush ranch.

"But whether it be here or in Washington or anywhere else, there's somebody who has got something to say to the president, that's part of the job," Bush said on the ranch. "And I think it's important for me to be thoughtful and sensitive to those who have got something to say."

"But," he added, "I think it's also important for me to go on with my life, to keep a balanced life."

Contrast the above with what he said during the 2000 campaign:

September 8, 2000 - "This is what I'm good at. I like meeting people, my fellow citizens, I like interfacing with them."

'Nuff said.

1. If Cindy had a $10,000 check
Bush would be right down to talk to her... :grr:

2. Well, if he's always lying, is he really contradicting himself?
Seriously, I never ever believe a thing he says.

But it's still a good catch, so thanks.

4. Hypocrisy, thy name is george w. bush..
And it's certainly true, if Cindy Sheehan had a big, fat check to offer him or the RNC, you bet your ass he'd be there ready to make time for her. Probably would have one of them nice, cutesy, folksy nicknames for her, too.

5. Of course...would you really want to "interface" with *?
Ugh.

That line actually sounded somewhat sincere until he used that word.
