Rowena Jhant, left, a mother from Waco, Texas, and a supporter of President Bush, and Charlie Anderson, a war protester who served in Iraq, of Virginia Beach, Va., restore crosses and American flags that were vandalized by a pickup truck the night before, along the road leading to President Bush's ranch, in Crawford, Texas, Tuesday, August, 16, 2005. Jhant, who disagrees with the anti-war protesters led by 'peace mom' Cindy Sheehan, said she did not feel it was right to drive by and leave the American flags and crosses on the ground without trying to help repair the destruction. 1. The media is using the 'pro Bush mom' to redeem ...
.... rather than highlighting the pro-Bush MORON who tore the place up in the first place.

We can't give them a pass simply because one woman has some sense.

9. I agree
It really is disgusting. The hero of the story ends up being a freaking bush supporter! Oh and look, there are a bunch of evil "anti-war protesters" trying to stop her from her saintly work. I voted all those featuring this woman at one star. Get a clue lady, The crosses wouldn't be there in the first place if it weren't for that dildo in the WH.

6. I think we should build more of those type of memorials
Not just in Texas, for every one they vandalize, we should put up TWO in response.

7. Jackie Kennedy was asked to change her bloody clothes - she said
"No, I want them to see what was done.."the full quote could probably be found in Manchester's book

She was right

In this instance, I think I would have left the broken ones on the ground and put new ones behind the fallen ones..

To let everyone see what was done

11. Kicking
Just before I left camp Monday morning, an older vet asked me to put out a request for flowers for the crosses, since many of them had no flowers. Don't need big bouquets (not room for large arrangements anyway), just small bunches.

I have to tell you the crosses memorial was so moving I really had a hard time even going over to see them, but I did several times. The pictures displayed by the Gold Star Families made me more determined than ever to work towards bringing all the troops home safe to their loved ones.

12. You can't let the flags lay on the ground
That's our flag, not the flag of the rightwingers!
