It would be great fun to agitate the shit out of Novak in a public place to see if he blows.

3. Woody was an asshole .... made many mistakes but ......
..... He also took roses after his team got bids to the Rose bowl
and went to OSU Hospital and gave them to people who were
facing bad times ..... it and Columbus was different then .... he told
the press not to publish his actions and they didn't.

...... I know a man (he was a kid then) who was in a car wreck
and Woody came every day to his room for 2 months to "pump
him up" before painful physical therapy.

...... he was a decorated WW II ship commander.

....... turned down millions in TV & Print Ads.

It is simple to be simple, and Woody made his mistakes ( he should have
retired earlier ) in public but to lump him in with Jim Bakker is stupid.

....... he did more for integration then any College Coach.

..... he deserved to be fired for his actions and said so in public.

Woody was neither all good or all bad ..... he was human.

...... he walked into 20,000 pissed off college kids in 1970 and kept
it from becoming another Kent State.

4. Good analysis of Woody.
I had many disagreements with his politics, but one thing is for certain he honestly cared about the players and the people.
He put his time and his money where his mouth was. No one was unimportant as far as he was concerned.
He was human.

5. thanks
Woody was complex I hated his politics, but his core values were great.

The man studied and loved Emerson ........... It is simple to be simple
but it is far better to look at all sides.
