Seymour Hersh on The Daily Show...
Says "that we are trying to fix things"

Those are the words he is putting into the gw*dipshit adminstration...

it shouldn't be that we are trying to fix things

8. How true!
I LOVE The Daily Show! They tell it like it is and put the news in such a way that even the Repubs. should be able to understand!

5. Of course we're "fixing" things...
Where do you think the $9 BILLION disappeared to? We hand out money here and there to fix elections, to stage "happy Iraqis," etc. NOTHING that happens over there is honest.

6. Hersh was amazing !!!!!
Edited on Tue Aug-16-05 10:37 PM by welshTerrier2
he said we took all the money ($3 billion?) we confiscated from Saddam and used it to "fix the elections" in Iraq and in Afghanistan ...

he said the only thing we can do now is get out of there as fast as possible ...

he also said that it is widely believed the insurgency is preparing a massive assault sometime soon and they might even try to drive the US out of the "Green Zone" and take over Baghdad ...

folks, there's just no nice way to say this: virtually all of our elected leaders and most of the rest of our government are setting us up for a catastrophic failure in Iraq ... while they tapdance around playing their little political games, our country is going to suffer a devastating failure ... we'll be paying the price for this tragedy for generations ...

7. I wished Jon had let him finish about the Iranian border stuff.
He was going strong there.

Fascinating about Iran being in touch with Venezuela to deprive us of oil and tighten the screws.

We really are so in a mess.

13. It was a crucial statement by Hersh.
We need to stop being afraid to say when we think someone is wrong. I love Jon Stewart's show...but he needed to let Sy Hersh finish the statement about the Iranian border and the contact with Venezuela.

In fact I was not really being that critical, but my hubby yelled Jon shut up and let him talk.

Nothing wrong with saying what we think.

10. As usual, I'm with you MF.
Pissed me off that Jon interjected a moment of "levity" at that point about Hersh "making up names". Cute, but it derailed Sy.

16. That's been going on for awhile now...
Why do you think the Bush administration hates Chavez so much....

http://www.plenglish.com/article.asp?ID=%7B62FF49B6-ABE3-45A5-9B73-ADBD79676C0D%7D&language=EN

They have been after him since they took office....

He was interested in switching his fiat currency, the currency in which they trade on the open world market, to the Euro. Right about the time Saddam was talking about it....

This is about more than Islamic fundamentalism, it's about the control of the world's wealth and how the resource rich nations such as the OPEC nations, are wanting to retain their wealth and not see it all transfered to western interests...

That is why Britain is so loyal to us, they are protecting their investment in the US and the dollar...

Britain does not use the Euro...

Italy and Spain joined the coalition of the willing so fast because they felt like France and Germany were dominating the European Alliance and they wanted some leverage with the US.....

Do you really think they were all that worried about Saddam?
