Bush Approval Continues to Fall

Just saw this over at http://politicalwire.com/

President Bush’s job approval has dropped to 41% nationwide, according to the results of 50 separate but concurrent, statewide public opinion polls conducted by SurveyUSA. Bush’s aproval rating ranges from a high of 59% in Idaho to a low of 29% in Rhode Island.

* Bush is above 50% in 7 states.
* Bush is at 50% in 2 states.
* Bush is below 50% in 41 states.

Compared to last month's poll, Bush's approval numbers dropped 5 or more points in 10 states. The single largest drop was in Minnesota, where it fell 10 points. Bush also fell 9 points in New Mexico.

Here's the URL to the survey:

The right is exposing itself for what it is. Partisan lunacy. The cross destroyer did so in "support" of Bush remember.

And in 06, if we are true to our populist roots and have a national agenda that is geared to helping the dying middle and working classes, we could take it all back.

54. The two states that really jump out are Ohio and Missouri
Two very important swing states that went to Bush.... now his approval is at 38% in both????? Very interesting, this shows how incredibly soft his support was a year ago, and sadly, how the dems really blew the election in those two states alone.

I hope someone at the national level is studying these numbers.

9. Answer to the question whether Sheehan is hurting Stupidhead?
Looks like an unqualified yes from where I'm sitting.

Keep this in mind when the know-nothing chuckleheads on your TV try to tell you that Cindy Sheehan is a distraction, or she's inconvenient. Well behaved women rarely make history. And Lil Boots is finding out that there are more mothers to be feared than just Witch Queen Barbara.

At some point, he can't pull stunts like that because even the rabid right have to worry about re-election, and can't afford to screw around again.

Lincoln's up for a much tougher re-election campaign next year. Depending on what happens with Groton/New London and the submarine base, I don't think the repugs have a prayer in RI. A fair number of RI residents derive their living from the submarine base and have supported Chaffee in the past. Won't happen if the base closes.

19. Weighted vs unweighted makes little difference.

Weighted Average 41% 55% -14%
('Weighted Average' means each state is weighted proportionally to its share of USA population. For example,
California, the most populated state, is given 71 times the weight of WY the least populated state, in a weighted avg.)

Unweighted Average 43% 53% -10%
('Unweighted Average' means each state is given equal weight; population density is not taken into account).

22. Rasmussen concurs
http://www.rasmussenreports.com/Bush_Job_Approval.htm

Even here he is only at 43% approving with 55% disapproving.

This is significant, because Rasmussen results are always more favorable to the president than other polls due to fact that he employs a different polling method than the others.

Good to see.

Just as soon as the next terror alert (or worse) hits or the Dimson makes some more stump speeches on "morality" the numbers will track back up.

In my view...its 50/50 of the voting public....Include the non-participants of Democracy and I think he tracks in the shitter, but they dont vote anyway so their numbers dont matter (UNLESS we can get them to vote)

46. I agree with you and thought the same exact thing
It's very worrisome to me, as it is another indication that the voting machines in Ohio and elsewhere were rigged.

If those machines stay rigged (and what's to stop the Republicans?) then it won't matter whether a majority of people "wake up" or not.

Personally, I firmly believe that Kerry won in Ohio in 2004 and therefore won the election.

isn't it possible that some of the disapproval numbers could even be bolstered by the ultra-conservsative element that thinks he is not doing enough to follow their agenda? Were Bush to start a campaign of fear and loathing like he did before the last election, is it possible that his numbers would go back up becaus he would once again have the right wing freak group back in his corner?
