Limbaugh baselessly compared Cindy Sheehan to Bill Burkett: "Her story is nothing more than forged documents"

Nationally syndicated radio host Rush Limbaugh equated the actions of Cindy Sheehan, the mother of a soldier killed in Iraq, with those of Bill Burkett, the retired Texas Air National Guard officer who provided CBS' 60 Minutes with http://mediamatters.org/rd?http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2004/09/20/eveningnews/main644664.shtml">unauthenticated documents regarding President Bush's National Guard record. Sheehan is currently staging an http://mediamatters.org/rd?http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2005/08/12/AR2005081201816.html?nav=mb">anti-war protest outside Bush's ranch in Crawford, Texas. Limbaugh said that Sheehan's "story is nothing more than forged documents."

Sheehan's "story" is, in fact, that her son http://mediamatters.org/rd?http://www.defenselink.mil/releases/2004/nr20040407-0531.html">died while fighting in Iraq. A Humvee mechanic, Spc. Casey Sheehan was one of seven U.S. soldiers killed in Baghdad's Sadr City on April 4, 2004, by rocket-propelled grenades and small arms fire.

I simply run into fewer and fewer people who believe in this guy. Actually, I want to THANK HIM for pushing me to the left. I used to be a far right Conservative and prayed to the altar of Rush.

I believed in everything he said and he fueled my right-wing ideology with hatred and paranoia. That is until he made the mistake one day of talking about an issue I was very involved with. I listened to him spout lie after lie after lie for about 10 minutes.

That got to get me thinking that if he lied about this, what all else has he been lying about

Once I became more critical of Rush I began to find that he lied about most things or severely twisted “truth” to advance his own ideology. His claim that the Endangered Species Act caused the death of firefighters was the last straw with that POS.
