New Sy Hersh Article?

Rumor has it Sy Hersh is coming out with a new article saying the US has troops on the Iranian border and is preparing an invasion. Anyone else hear this?

But nothing definitive that I've seen. Yet.

2. I don't think invasion is the right word

Where would they get the troops for an actual invasion? Iran's army is much bigger and much better prepared than Iraq's was. (Hell, that's why they went after Saddam: they knew he couldn't stop them.)

Last I heard, Hersh was talking about an air campaign against Iran with some guerrilla troops doing commando raids from the border. I don't think we could successfully invade Luxembourg right now, much less Iran.

Special Ops and "strategic bombing," which really means "let's bomb them and call it a strategy!"

5. He mentioned that last night on The Daily Show. Troops are on the

border, but are preparing to harass Iran. Which sinc they're crossing the border with military troops is the basic definition of an invasion.

6. Was it Balochistan he mentioned? The pronunciation was odd...and

don't forget the Kurds in Iran are restive....wanna bet we're involved with that, too?

7. Yes, some country I never heard of. I did hear months ago that the

Israelis are with the Kurds training them so they can bother Iran.

9. Balochistan, also spelled

Baluchistan, isn't a country but a region spread over Iran, Pakistan and Afghanistan. The Baluch don't have a stan all their own, and probably won't unless they manage to cobble it together from what's left after WWIII.

8. I still worry about a significant number of our troops

being sandwiched between Iraqi "Insurgents" to the West and a fairly well-armed Iranian force to the East.

I don't trust this administration to have prepared properly for this "rock and a hard place" scenario.

After all, the * admin couldn't even get us all flu shots last fall and they knew several months in advanced that they would be needed.
