I think you got it.
But, I wouldn't put it solely on Cheney.
With regards to Israel, I despise what's going on at the same time that I think that it's a set-up (similar to usa). I think that it's a banking conspiracy to open markets and thus gain control in me.
I have a personal stake in this discussion triggered by a teenage girl who used to visit me. She was learning hebrew (prior to immigration to Israel) and teaching me the Hebrew alphabet ( I suspect as an excuse to choose music on my radio that her parents wouldn't allow her to listen to...typical teenager ). She was only 14 going on 15 and being raised by her aunt who was a fundamentalist Christan aspiring to be a fundamentalist Israeli settler...in other words, she was seeking coherency and security and she may have been swiss cheese ideologically but her instincts were appropriate for her situation. So, the plan was to have an ideology bolster a position that enhanced security and explained inconsistencies...perfectly understandable.
Only, now, I wonder what happened to this young person, she would be considered an adult, now. Did her family make it to Israel? did they find security?
I never thought about Israel until I met this young woman, who made it personal...and then I got a computer. OOOoooh, what a churning ensued from this type of examination...ooohh, sensitive! So, why is Israel a "button"; why is it set-up to be a button? My guess is that there wouldn't be so much discussion if it wasn't set-up to be an issue, a lightning rod...(my guess) a scapegoat.
I do think people are manipulating the fundamental responses of ordinary people. Why? My guess, an insecurity that seeks justification.
This young person that I knew, she was not a caricature, that was her life. I really liked her and the whole thing seems so tragic.
Why? and what about the authentic, true-to-life people in palestine?
