Sounds like CNN special will blame intelligence community...not Bush.
Or am I getting the wrong impression here. I just was surfing through the news channels, saw the excerpt from their upcoming special as presented by the illustrious Daryn Kagan of Rush Limbaugh fame.

Sounded to me like they are going to take the blame off Powell for the lie before the UN, and try to put it all on Tenet.

Sounds like they are using the voice of David Kay as the authority figure, which to me is a dubious thing.

I did not catch the name of the special, which I think is this week-end.

CNN is again covering Bush's butt, I think.

This is going to be a real test of where our former President stands.

Will he stand up and say, "Bullshit!"?

2. You're right....CNN is once again parrotting the White House line...
...which has always been that the intelligence community got it wrong.
CNN is trying to show with this report just how edgy it is, asking the tough questions, coming up with the tough conclusions....puh-leez!
How tough is it to do George's bidding for him, by pinning it on the intelligence community? It is a joke. The intelligence community tried to warn the civilian leadership at the Pentagon, State Dep't and indeed the White House itself that they were barking up the wrong tree saying Saddam had WMD. But, when you're planning to go to war against Iraq from the day you take office...you're not going to listen to any naysayers.

3. The devil's advocate...
I know I'll probably get flamed but lets look at this from a different perspective breifly. Bush is running an entire country and has to worry about economy, military, healthcare, politics, etc. and must balance that all out. In order to make the correct decisions he must rely on his advisors and others to be his eyes and ears and to get the right info to him so he can make a sound decision. If his advisors give him bad info and he makes an inccorect decision because of it then the fault lands on the person who made the decision(bush) however, since he was given bad info the fault really lies in his advisors doing a poor job and not him...

HOWEVER...

It has been repeatly been shown that Bush was told that Bush knew the intelligence was faulty and wrong(Plame case is an example), and went ahead and accepted it as fact anyways(or at least told the public it was). So at this point this arguement completely falls apart.

4. Bush IS the commander in chief. The burden of proof is with him.
It is his job to know what he is doing when he sends a nation to war.
He failed in his job, and then he laughed at a dinner...where's those WMDs,..not here. over there...nope not here either.

He sent our soldiers to die on a lie. He was told to take the Niger claim out of the SOTU speech....he kept it in.

He is in charge...it is his fault.

17. Here's the problem with that
The Bush administration pimped the WMD angle on Iraq for MONTHS before the supposed "slam dunk" meeting with Tenet took place. So Bush hadn't even met with his CIA director to see the case for Iraqi WMD before he started speechifying for war using the WMD angle.

5. They are using the Pat Roberts Senate Intel report and Bush's Intel Comm.
which ONLY pointed fingers at CIA and intel community, while IGNORING any WH involvement.

This was the point of Kerry's letter to the Intel Committee - The Downing Street Minutes added a new perspective to the Intel investigations and that is why the Intel Committee needed to FINISH ITS JOB PROPERLY with full inquiry into the WH's involvement in pushing Bad intel.

CNN is Bush's CoverupNewsNetwork of choice.

6. CNN is more our enemy right now than FOX.
We know what Fox is, even most people who watch it regularly. Most trust CNN, though, and that is what makes them dangerous.

As you watch and listen to CNN attempts to smear Cindy, remember this:
From 2001

CNN's new CEO, Walter Isaacson, was recently in Washington conferring with Republicans in Congress and the White House, looking for ways to improve CNN's image among conservatives. CNN has been losing viewers to newcomers like Fox News and MSNBC, which together are attracting about half a million viewers a day compared to a little over three hundred thousand for CNN. Fox, with conservative stars like Bill O'Reilly, Brit Hume and Tony Snow, appeals to conservatives, and its viewership has skyrocketed.

Reaching out to Republicans

It seems Isaacson set the foundation for reporting lies* in order to support the GOP and protect the Bush Family.

_______
Remember the CNN's "Yawning Boy Lie" in its attempt to discredit David Letterman?

10. Are you saying that takes Bush and Powell off the hook?
I hope not. Powell's appearance before the UN was a sickening thing. Bush is the commander in chief, and he took us to war on a lie.

I am not defending Tenet, as he apparently played both sides....however Powell LIED in front of the UN.

15. LOL - good one !
I think you've hit on a great idea for a Tee-shirt!

White Tee, with faux image of Medal of Freedom hanging around neck - and the subtext "I lied for Bush and all I got is this lousy Medal of Freedom!"

Anybody want to manufacture this item? I'll buy one!

19. It is obviously up to the community of our peers to get the truth out
the activists on this site and many others are working long and hard to ensure the truth will find its voice....

Cnn covering the butts of those questionable chararacters that seemingly are in control of this nation is nothing new...

The word is getting out though, slower than many would like, but even without the aid of those with mikes, truth will prevail...

I believe last nights nationwide demonstrations demanding accountibility for the blantant misuse of power in continualy lying to the American people regarding this war is proof that truth and justice will ultimately prevail...
